Thread following process of creating a New Registry Set (the set itself, not my collection)

I plan to periodically update this thread as I make progress (or don't) getting a new registry set started. Hopefully it's a short lived thread due to the set being started quickly. Wish me luck @Catbert !
Day 1 - PM sent with request to @Charles_Morgan (Summary: I would like a new set based on the book referenced in this PCGS article. I will provide all of the PCGS #s for each slot and a recommended weighting for each slot)

Day 2- Prompt, pleasant, and competent communication from Charles. This seems like it should be a fairly quick process.

Day 3 - After conferring with most/all of the trade dollar variety collectors (sickos!), a spreadsheet was sent with recommended set weightings and all of the PCGS spec numbers that should align with each slot. Per Charles' estimate, this should be up and running by the end of the month or so.

Thanks, @lermish. Please keep us (sickos) updated!

This will be a fun and educational thread.
Day 5 - I spoke with Charles a couple of days ago (great guy!!!). He emailed me this morning for clarification regarding a spec number but otherwise, the set is constructed. There will be a few checks performed on Monday but the set should be live next week sometime! Will update when that time comes.
I have been vocal about issues within PCGS over the last couple of years and rightfully so. However, as we all know in life, people make the difference. I am confident that the Set Registry has someone in charge who cares, is competent, and wants the registry to succeed. Thank you @Charles_Morgan , speaking for all of us registry participants, we are happy to have you on board.
( @mbogoman - you may want to have some fun with this set also)

Somehow I missed this thread until @lermish mentioned me. Consider my interest piqued!

My fault. I should have asked for your email address in advance and added you to the email chain asking for comments. Happy you're here now though!

Day 7 - Completed!
@Charles_Morgan Thank you very much. It's so gratifying and encouraging to have someone running the Set Registry who is knowledgeable and who cares about collectors!

It looks like a competition is afoot! How long until someone 100%s the set?

This is a TOUGH set. @keoj has a full set but a couple of the varieties are double dipped (two varieties on one coin) so I don't think anyone currently has all 37 varieties represented on 37 separate coins. Additionally, a couple of the varieties have known populations of five or fewer coins. Quite a few more are in the couple dozen range.
So, to answer your question...a while

I've book marked the set and will check back often. Also, I enjoy the comments. You guys are following best practices!

@Charles_Morgan - is it still preferred to use the Set Request link for this sort of thing, or is that getting phased out? I have to make a pest out of myself every year or two, in hopes someone will deem my Kookaburra showcase worthy of it's own set definition. I'll admit, it's not for the faint of heart.
There's a few other showcases in here that would make good sets (and a couple that probably wouldn't LOL - the F12/F15 Privies are pretty esoteric with low populations, and the horses are pretty much all over the map - an Australian Stock Horse and Brumby Set would be a viable option, but again, pretty low pops for those too)
The Eagles, Swans, and Dolphins should be easy sets to get started, with population numbers that give 'em a fighting chance of taking off. The Kangaroo set is a mix of popular and obscure, there's bound to be a lot of 40% completion sets, I'm sure. And the Kookaburra - well... I named it 'Insanity' for a reason. It's been my pet project for years, and I still don't think PCGS should let NGC keep all the glory for hosting those sets
If there's anything in here that grabs your attention, I can make an effort to get 'em updated and polished up (I gave up on them over a year ago, when everything at the Registry seemed to be falling apart). New blood, new eyes, new perspectives within the registry might bring new interest in these sets.

Thanks
The 'Set Request' link remains the preferred method, though please keep in mind that we receive a high volume of requests. Separately, I currently have a queue of projects I’m working to complete; in this case, the collector’s request happened to align with one of them, allowing for a quick turnaround and a win for the community.
I plan to publish another major set in the coming days! Please submit yours via the request link, and feel free to DM me with your concept or any extra details so Hy and I can better understand the context.

@Charles_Morgan - Very good, thank you -- I'll stay on the sidelines for a few weeks to let you catch your breath a bit, and sent through a few set requests later in the spring
