My latest CAC submission. Exceed, Pass or No - Results Posted

I sent in a couple of coins for CAC stickering and I received the results within a week. CAC is usually on the ball when it comes to turnaround time being less than a week.

From these photos I would lean no to all three, but the photos are not helping the cause.

Interested in the results. I’ve never incorrectly predicted a CAC pass with coins in hand, but the photos are tough.

I don’t know what your sample size has been for your predictions but if it’s at least double digits, you might be grading too conservatively.😉

Always tough with photos. The quarter especially so in this case, I think. But my initial reaction was the same as that of Cougar1978: No, exceed, pass.

No on all three but photos are not easy to view.
The shield nickel looks like it has no luster at all but could be the photo.
The half dime looks really nice but think the scratches under the STATES of the reverse side will cause CACG to reject it.
The half dollar looks like it has no luster either. Could it be a scanned photo?

I’ll go Y,N,N. Seems @pursuitofliberty and I think alike! Pics are all different styles so it’s hard to tell what the coins actually look like in hand.

If there are no underlying issues that the pics aren’t showing I don’t see any reason why all three shouldn’t sticker.
Judging from images can be difficult, especially different techniques. Three different styles; 1. NGC Photo Image, 2. seller image and 3. PCGS TrueView.

The two of you aren’t the only ones who think alike. That is, unless you don’t equate a “pass” with a “yes”.😉

I actually counted one other among us by the time David made that comment. We all may be wrong, but what a handsome group of numismatists we are.

Threads such as this really highlight the subjective nature of grading as well as expectations for a coin at various grade levels.

I think it highlights the ease of participation in a guessing game of coins already graded. Will they sticker ? Simple enough.

Participation is simple enough... providing meaningful commentary is simply not as easy as it may look.

Often times I will change one of mine or even two so my answer isn’t a duplicate of someone else, if I’m gonna win I want to win first.

Meaningful commentary is even easier. I will say 2 get a sticker and one won’t. And I’m going to guess CAC won’t sticker the MS 60 , due to graffiti between the leaves on the reverse.

While I only noted @pursuitofliberty's comment at the time of my comment as similar to mine, I could not be happier now to know the company of the others who had the same guess!

NGC sometimes stretches their AU grades, so the nickel may not have stickered.
If the PCGS "60" does not have "cleaning" hidden by the toning, it probably got the sticker.
The last "MS63" coin probably doesn't have enough originality for cac.
News flash - NGC isn’t the only grading company that “sometimes stretches their AU grades.”

No (High point loss makes it an AU but if the field's luster headlights than sure as a 60)
Yes ( its all there but does the luster support 63, cant tell from the photo)

I agree with Mark - yes, no, no.
I might add I am guessing the half dime won't sticker because of friction. But I am predisposed to be suspicious of 60 as a grade. I don't think I have ever owned one.
The quarter might have PVC.
My good friend Oreville is grading a half dollar somehow!
"Look up, old boy, and see what you get." -William Bonney.
Regarding the Half Dime - in addition to the possible friction you noted, a couple of the replies mentioned scratches or graffiti at the upper central portion of the reverse.
And as for @Orville, he’s so astute that he was probably grading a coin that hasn’t even been posted yet.😉

A little bit surprised, but not too much. I waffled on both the Shield and the Barber, so I guess it doesn't surprise me one got it. And of course, which ever one I picked of those two to get stickered would be wrong!
I WOULD have been surprised it the Half Dime got it, as I think JA would have though the reverse scratches/marks where not "natural" and that there is rub (what he usually tags as "friction" on lower MS coins).
Glad we got to see and play along! Thanks for sharing!!

Late to the game, I'd have said NO to all three.
So I belong in @MFeld group of a nobody too.
It pretty much sums up the old saying "if everybody is thinking alike, somebody is not thinking."
