That was quite a revelation about the market for CACG coins and not a whole lot to do with your thread title. But keep trying.

Type coins are the least likely examples I would pay a cac related premium but I am not huge proponent of paying extra for something I can gauge.

im happy with what i got. dont need another addiction
I have one CACG coin. It is an 1872 Indian Cent which they graded AU-55. I think that it's an AU-58, but I didn't pay a huge premium for it.
Since I am reaching the end of my U.S. coin journeys, I don’t anticipate buying many more CACG coins. I don’t go out of my way to buy CACG coins, but from I have seen, they are conservatively graded but pricey. They are not as conservative as EAC which is sometimes insane.
Cool, thanks for texting us about it.
Nice example Bill. Perhaps the lack of definition in the diamond detail was the reason it didn’t attain the 58 grade.
I had a lavender latte this morning. I had to pay up, but it was delicious.

You're drinking coffee wrong.
When a Market Maker such as @Cougar1978 gives us insight into his numismatic mind we should all pay attention, not belittle.
Dear forum contributors,
Red knows opinion follows logic and logic follows future pricing.
It might be a good time to stock up before others learn of this and prices sour (Edited post: I mean, soar).
Thank you for your attention,
Red R.
No cacs addiction here, quite the opposite actually. RGDS!

I do not view the diamonds as a stand alone grading point. If a Mint State coin is weak in that area, is it an AU? No. There is a minor spot to the right of the “U” in “UNITED,” but you could have that on an MS-63.
The 1872 cent is known to be weak in other, less wear vulnerable areas, like shield on the reverse. This date is prone to having foreign material between the dies which resulted in incomplete detail.
I doubt that the lack of definition on the diamonds had any bearing on the grade.

It had a sticker on it.

Red thinks it would be an enjoyable experience to be casually sipping a Venti iced latte at Starbucks to have @jmlanzaf order and then pick-up his coffee. I suppose it is possible the Barista has a southern accent when I imagine this scenario.
CACG is doing a great job grading and has really nailed it. I will have to admit that they are sometimes harder on some coins and I feel worthy of a higher grade. I will pay a premium for CACG coins compared to others.
Well I do too and it’s exciting CACG now online selling slabbed Libertads but the higher prices… I may get the half oz CACG denom lol just for collection / investment.
Me too
I was thinking of ways to spin CACG addiction into a forum appropriate joke something something about how many addictions will lead to a CACG addiction to fund it but I have moved on

Looking forward to the edit...
Once my new camera comes, I'll photograph both of these properly.
Paid up as well on both of these, but I believe they are extremely well graded.
Definitely met or exceeded expectations in person vs grade.
I like their pricing and speed of service. Maybe that could turn into an addiction?
For example my most recent 1 coin sub.

Too bad I didn't look at the coin more closely before the send-off. - It came back a 69, win some lose some.

.
A lot of action going on near the “E” and “P” of E Pluribus Unum on the reverse. Appears to be correctly graded as a 69
Possible. However, I am in NY so not a lot of southern accents up here.

I do like the aesthetics of their newest holder (labels)

Dear diary:
Jimmy picked up some libertads at melt, was asking 80% cdn/cpg but only lowballs at his table. I told Larry he should just let them rip on the bay at .99, let the tire kickers take their BS somewhere else.

CACG “true views” (or whatever they call them)are getting better and better imho
Did you later spend the proceeds at the gentleman’s club?
Tell Larry/Jimmy to be careful. Lots of scammers out on the bay. He could loose all that extra profit and more in a hurry. RGDS!

I personally don’t care much for the slab itself.. the service and grading are fine but the thing is just to boxy for me
I also think they diminished their “bean” by including a facsimile on all their newly graded items. Not all of the gradings deserve this designation
I prefer NGC PCGS with beans

instead of putting an L on the label for coins that previously were graded by pcgs or ngc...it would be crazy if they listed the previous grading service and numerical grade.
Sorry. I passed out for a moment. What year is it?

I agree, Im perfectly fine with their conservative grading , and good eye for detecting doctored, work overs, but have never really been a big fan of the holders . They are growing on me a bit as of late. At savannah last week, got my account for stickering and also grading updated , so I can use them more in future. I have been a member of CAC just about since inception, but really only ever submitted my bigger personal coins, and do to shipping and postal theft, usually had Ian, Harry L or Dave K do it for me. Also, i told the CAC rep lady at the table, yall used to never come to accept stuff at shows, it always had to be mailed in. Glad for that change, especially with bigger ticket items.
