After vigorously studying the AU53 and AU55 PCGS Photogrades, I honestly don't think it would because I see a lot of wear for the grade and I don't necessarily think CAC would agree on the grade. That's just my opinion though.

You should post the grade if you want a CAC prediction.
Having noted that it’s graded AU-53, I tend to doubt it. CAC probably wants more detail behind Ms. Liberty’s forehead. This might be a variety where that area is often weak, but I don’t know if CAC gets into the weeds like that.
There are many 1799 varieties, and I don’t have time at the moment to get in the weeds.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
With early dollars, I find that it's more about the surface preservation and originality than the technical grade for CAC criteria. Im going to vote no - a bit cleany, and I don't love those scratches, especially behind her head on obv.
Before looking at the cert. I thought AU50 at least and the only detractor to note is the smudge on the 2nd S in STATES. Frankly, I've not seen enough of these in hand to evaluate surfaces... and be able to split hairs from an image...

Do you think it would cac at AU50 then?
My opinion would yes, but I am not in CAC’s head. There is the dark spot on the last “S” of “STATES” which they might not like. It looks like it has enough luster to qualify, but that’s a factor one can only judge in person.

I think it is CACed. The coin is pleasant enough, I only see notable obverse scratches. Nice coin overall for a 53.
