If you remember the silver rise from 2003 to 2011, today is just like 2008......a wave 4. Recall that silver dropped >from $21 to $9 that year. It looked OVER.

Fair point....I would note that the decline in 2008 was ALL risk assets going down as a resultr of the GFC.

It appears that silver is going to try and base in the $70's. If that is the case, then an assault on new highs could take place later this year. But we need to back-and-fill for a few months, IMO.

With the amount of silverware and jewelry that came out of cabinets and cupboards, my guess is the metal in circulation has spiked quite a bit...

that metal did not circulate. It went into depleted exchange vaults and to solar power companies and to EV battery builders and to. . .

Question.....if JP Morgan is bullish on gold ($6,300 target) but neutral/bearish on silver ($75 support range)...does this mean they are now manipulating one metal HIGHER and another metal LOWER ?

    Asking for a friend..... :)

Does it mean that JPM is talking out of both sides of their mouths because they are still accumulating physical silver?

iran will have nothing to do with it

the tariff ruling will affect the dollar and PMs

If Iran closes the straits of Hormuz there will be effects on oil, precious metals, the dollar and the world economy.

The tariff ruling is a distraction.

Well, Iran has threatened to close the Straights many times before....but they also suffer from a form of TACO. Each threat has been met with assurances from the US and Europe for safe passage. So I wont claim to think what MsMorrisine thinks, his comment does appear to be rooted in a historical context.

  • I agree with MsMorrisine.
Even if the Iran conflict heats up, I don't expect it to touch the price of gold.
We did "Operation Praying Mantis" in 1988, it was a brief one day war with Iran. The Navy battered Iran and their small navy so badly that the sailors felt bad and just stopped offensive operations after the first few hours.

They can close the straits, do a war, touch our boats... and in less than 24 hours we can make them regret it and bring back global stability.

Much lower than $120 ? Bet.
Much lower than $100 ? Check
Much lower than $91 ? Sure.
Much lower than $75 ? Okay
your projection is lower. I think MsMorrisine pegged it near $40. Others agree. Not so sure I do.
