I needed this type, the Barber half, for my holed Basic 19th Century Type Set, which is pinned to a cork board on my desk.
I got this coin for 73 bucks after shipping. Without looking it up offhand, I’m guessing this would’ve been what, a $400-450-ish coin without the hole? I’m pleased with it. It’s a nice holey.

Now I lack only the Seated Dollar With Motto and the Trade Dollar to complete the corkboard collection.
This is an old picture of that from January 2025:

Way cool 😎
I have a holed gobrecht dollar that have been repaired. Why do people make holes on coins?
My guess is so they don't lose them.
Nice. A holed coin to fill a hole in your collection.
Super collection !

Looks like fun. You should add the commems, Isabella, Columbian, Lafayette.
They used to wear them around their neck.
I read that somewhere.

I'm somewhat impressed and intrigued that it was slabbed. It's somehow incredibly fitting.

I may not have purchased that series but I definitely wouldn’t pass on a holed commemorative or bust half that I need
Lafayette Grading Set
I think you should drill a hole in the slab that goes through the hole in the coin.
Cool corkboard collection Rob!

LOL. The thought crossed my mind. I’ll probably just crack it out and save the label, though.

Nice addition and collection, Im still working on a complete holed Indian head cent collection myself…
I like it when they can pull a reaction from you like ugh…. Here are 2 of mine that kinda do just that.
Admittedly I do like the orientation of the peace dollar hole as it stays in the same spot when you coin flip the dollar.
Good luck on your Holey pursuit @lordmarcovan !!

Do you ever consider buying culls and drilling your own holes for the missing issues?
I did that, but didn’t finish. Sold the set. Also have done large cents and Bust halves by date. Didn’t complete those either, but got very close.
Congrats on the Trade dollar- that’s one of the last two types I need for this set.

I'd think because if they don't someone else certainly will.
Best use of corkboard I've ever seen!
Yes, you sold it to me
PM me if you are interested in the Trade Dollar, its a beaut (i think)
