Kind of a nip & tuck race. I WAS thinking silver will hit $100 first but I just checked Gold @ $ 4759. Gonna be a very close race.

Tough call. I'd say silver @ $100 comes first.

If I heard it correctly, China or Hong Kong was already dealing with silver being above $100. May have pulled back by now.

Sorry it was above $100 in Shanghai

I was thinking silver first to $100., but saw a bit of a pull back towards $94. Last I saw was gold passing $4830., so with gold surging forwards I’ll go with gold to $5,000. first. Zack.

I'm with $5,000 gold as well. A tough call yes indeed

Does it matter if it’s $100 or $5000 if the dollars are worthless and untrustworthy? Why sell for dollars?

Where to put my remaining “paper” dollars which are really just digits on a screen, is what I need to decide. Land, guns, ammo, Whiskey? No stock market pyramid schemes for me.

  • jmski52jmski52 Posts: 23,927 ✭✭✭✭✭

Based on today's numbers, at the same rate of change for each metal, gold will top $5,000 tomorrow but silver won't quite make it to $100.

    Interesting times.

Are you going to exchange whiskey for goods and services ? :D

    The dollar is fine.

The United States stock market is the greatest wealth generator in the history of our planet. Not sure why you would say something like that.

For now, BUT it's quite obvious on what track it's on. We all know the history of fiat currencies worldwide. This is basic and you know it of course, BUT a 1964 and earlier QUARTER DOLLAR can buy you TODAY almost a 5 gallon jug of gasoline for one reason and one reason only. SILVER. What can your 2026 quarter dollar buy you?

I’m generally a contrarian I guess. I don’t trust anyone to pick investments for me and when I have done that it’s gone bad. For example a 529 that lost money. Fees and risk are not for me. 50s. No debt, fiscally very conservative.

Rick Rule maintains that the dollar will lose 75% of its purchasing power over the next 10 years, just like in the 1970s.

Tomorrow’s the Day for Both but so what? It will hit $5000/$100 and??? Just another milestone, a bit quick and a bit scary but you can’t keep printing money out of nothing and expect hard assets from going up. We all know both Gold and Silver prices have been sat on for decades and now they can’t control it like they did before. I have plenty of popcorn and I’ll just sit back and watch.

Inflation has averaged 3% a year since 1964. Would you prefer a flat price index and a loss of nominal and real GDP growth ?

If I said you could have 0% inflation with 1% real GDP growth over 60 years.....or 3% inflation with 2.5% GDP growth....which would you choose ? An 80% improvement in your standard of living and income...or a 340% improvement in your stand of living/income ?

  • OnlyGoldIsMoneyOnlyGoldIsMoney Posts: 3,536 ✭✭✭✭✭

After a long day of travelling I am tuning in. Gold and Silver within striking distance of $5,000 and $100. We may have a winner overnight.

Don't think your math checks out. 3% inflation with 2.5% GDP growth is a shrinking economy, unless the GDP number is adjusted for inflation and not nominal.

What's his track record ? Because if he is willing to wager that inflation will average 7%-plus over the next 10 years, I think his track record will be taking a major hit. :)

This is great, but .....no one is buying at anywhere near these prices, id like to take some profits, but not at -15 to -25, hopefully refinerys catch up before the inevitable dip.

Hope I'm wrong, but this cannot be sustainable.

There are a few places buying out there but not in large quantities. Yes, most are offering to well back of spot. Wait till the tank and everyone is scurrying to sell, it will be much more difficult then. RGDS!

The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.
