    I am on a bit of a roll. On the drive back from dropping my son at school, I stopped in a Kroger in northern Georgia and found a 1916 Canadian large cent.

    The return/reject slot is where the rejected coins are found.

    I've never really focused on the dump tray where the coins are poured in to be counted. Maybe there are finds there, as well.

    Are you sure that your silver Kennedys and steel cents aren't getting rejected either in the counting tray or the reject slot? 🤔

    I haven't dumped them yet. I just add coins every now and then so they are mixed up with the coins I dump when my bowls are full, about 300 dollars worth. But I check before I leave because sometimes putting coins through a second or third time they go through. I haven't done any steel cents yet. I opened an original bank wrapped half roll so I will add a couple of those.

    JBK, You have to look everywhere, I have found on the floor in front of the machine, on the side of it, and in the load-tray. Even if you don't see any coins, you should run your hand through the return because in the front of the return there's a lip/edge and a coin can rest against it and not be seen... One time there was an Tide bottle next to the machine, I kicked it and you hear all the coins that were left in it - I post on that one way back when because there were a lot of coins left and one sliver dime among them....

    Look at my pictures, coin are often stuck in the load slot - with a business card, folded in half (like tweezers), you can pinch them and pull them out... (keep a business card in your wallet...)

    I found $10 in oily change once in the trash. It may be a bit embarrassing to rummage through the trash, but it's worth it

    I'm an obsessive aluminum can recycler and enjoy dumpster diving for cans or riding my 'bent and grabbing cans along the highway shoulder. I turn them in for cash and then head to the LCS to purchase junk silver dollars, SAEs, and other silver coins.

    Last week, along with about 2000 cans, I found 85 cents in a dumpster. Occasionally, a dollar or $5 bill will turn up. I also have grabbed well over 100 sealed alcoholic beverages such as beer and vodka-and-seltzer drinks from dumpsters this past year. I have several cases worth of Michelob Ultra alone in the garage. Sometimes I find 11 sealed Michelob Ultras in a 12-pack and laugh because I don't like Michelob Ultra and assume the purchaser didn't care for them either. Unfortunately, I don't drink beer much anymore.

    $0.72 cents. Hit a 2nd machine but all it contained was a 3V CR2032 lithium battery and a 5A mini automotive fuse. RGDS!

    Didn’t find anything but last time I checked the machine (yesterday), some woman was staring at me suspiciously. She was still staring at me while I left the customer service room where the Coinstar resides. Nothing too interesting, I just thought it was a little weird. Just like the time a bluevest threatened to kick me out of the store when I checked the Coinstar. (not at my local Walmart, this was when I was out of state)

    I save up my common circulated IHC and early Lincolns and give them to my 92 year old mother, she gives them to the children at her church and then she tells them about the 1930s and 1940s as a child. Many express interest in the coins and hopefully will grow up into little collectors. B)
