This year I was surprised to see that I had purchased 20 Numismatic items. I bought 12 coins, 7 National Bank Notes and one book. How many Numismatic items did you purchase in 2025?

Just started collecting US coins late 2025 so not many. Was able to purchase 4 half dollars (all pre 1892). In 2026 I want to add 2 coins but early dates 1795-1801-1802. So it will be a slow year but once I add a few key dates I will be happy I did take time to save up and buy them. I am not rich so these are expensive coins for me even in lower grades.
If I sell enough of my Latin American coins I will try for a 1794. But that may or may not happen....will see.

More than I expected, lost count. I did get some things that I really wanted the last week: three newer Lincoln varieties including a top pop.
So I spent more than expected but am pleased with what I got during the year.
Looking forward to 2026! Happy New Year and may you all find a great coin for your collection this year.
All together I added 15 coins to my collection. It may sound like a lot to some (few to others), the combined purchase price of $2,240.00 gives some idea of my budget level. James

To many to count. Upgraded an unnamed 20th century silver series from mostly ms65-66 to ms66-67, ( still working on that ) About 50 coins upgraded in that series alone. Probably close to 100 coins total in 2025.

I did purchase a gorgeous $10 Indian in a MS 64 grade the year before. An absolute keeper with beautiful color.
One of my favorite designs besides the Palladium Eagle (RP) and of course the 2009 UHR.
7 graded coins and a few hundred raw coins, mostly consisting of dateless buffalo nickels, US Philippines issues, and SLQs
Four real coins and one bullion item.
It was a pretty spendy year for me and my collection, but I sold one real numismatic coin and a lot of bullion, and the proceeds of the sales covered nearly 2/3 the cost of the new purchases.
18, including 15 for my primary collection which is the most I've ever been able to find in a single year.

A gold CAC PCGS -40 Bechtler dollar.
A CAC 1801 bust dime.
A CAC 1802 bust half.
A beautiful lower grade CAC 1795 half cent.
A 1794 PCGS-35 CAC half cent with splendid color and planchet.
A PCGS-6 CAC S-4 chain cent.
I think that’s it?? Not a bad haul…. This year will be a bit less bountiful, but it will be focused on really outstanding collector grade early type.
Other passions include golf, Moto Guzzi motorcycles, and Euro motorcycles in general.

I purchased the largest amount of quality certified PCGS coins this year. Over 60+ coins and 1 numismatic book. Quite a great year for me and this new year should be as good or better than last year.

About 50 not counting silver rounds with some highlights being the 1847/1883 Hawaiian series, an AU 1955 DDO Lincoln, an 1853 type set, a seated liberty variety quarter set, some Roman ancients, some hard times tokens, and a few low-end Morgans.
Casual collector slowly building a collection....
Slow year. Maybe half dozen PCGS VF35 Standing Liberty quarters, along with a few other certified coins. Other than those, not much in the way of true collector coins. Luckily I bought lots of 90% silver early in the year. I’ll likely sell part of that in 2026 to fund additional collector coins.

That's an interesting question; I had never thought about it before. So I just counted the slabbed coins, ie, not those I purchased from the mint, and came up with 37. Numerically I purchased the most from GC (18), several from Heritage and StacksBowers, but the highest value came from @PeakRarities .
28 coins purchased. Biggest coin purchased was an 1870-CC in Fine-12.
22 coins sold. Biggest coin sold was an 1895-S XF45 dollar.
Some coins purchased in 2025 will be sold in 2026.

About 150. I sold my US coins that I’ve been collecting since 1953. Kept my Seated Liberty collection as I wasn’t ready to part with. The coins I purchased are all raw coins of the world.

I kept a collage of each of my purchases through the year - was actually kind of fun placing and readjusting the image with each new purchase, and makes a nice little visual summary of the year. Looks like the total was 31 coins and one Education Series note to fill in the background.
I will leave this as a marker ... and try to remember to come back
Since you mentioned books, I know it is over 100, by a large margin, because I added 125-some books, catalogs and periodicals to the Library (including a complete run of JRCS issues from 1 to 100). Couple that with coins and currency, and I suspect the final number is over 150 total, not including current subscripitions to the JRCS, Numismatist and other periodicals and catalogs I received.

I think I sold almost as many coins as I bought. Probably around 20 sold/25 bought. Many of the coins sold were to raise funds to buy coins I felt were not readily available that fit my collecting objectives. Several of the sold coins went to good homes although, while I'm not a dealer, it was hard for me to part with them since they were of good quality.

About 30. I did a good job keeping to my budget for the first half of the year, but then some rare things came up, and I did what I had to do and went over budget! Now I am taking it slow (cheap) and recovering. I do need to sell some things, e.g. I won some multi-item lots and only wanted one, so I have extra to sell (and add back to that budget).
I made two major purchases: 1854 $3 Gold PCGS AU53 CAC and a 1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent PCGS XF45 CAC after getting my Summer Contract money and then upgraded and completed my Late Date run of Large Cents... 10coins. I also completed a set of Buffalo Nickels and put them in a Wayte Raymond album (3 coins). Then, as the year was winding down, I started an interest in Hard Times tokens... I've accumulated a dozen of those...
So... budget? ooops! but I did offset the major purchases with sales of some 90% silver and a couple of coins on the BST. I'm probably going to take a step back from actively accumulating since we just closed on a house in PA... expendible income is being diverted there for the near term.
edited to add: Books! I finally broke down and bought a copy of Sheldon's book, Penny Whimsy. I also bought QDB's book and Rulau's book on Hard Times tokens...

I like slabbed bullion coins too many consider as numismatic coins. Got CACG MS 70 ASE? By the time received one recently it already increased in MV 20 pct.

None. But, on the other hand, I’ve not sold anything either. Biggest addition were a very nice 25 and 25 D cent for the blue Whitman’s I’ve worked on since about 1963.
