My first CAC stickering submission

With the generosity and assistance of a fellow CU forum member who has a CAC Legacy account, I was able to send my first stickering submission to CAC. I submitted fourteen coins. All PCGS certified. Six Buffalos, three Mercurys, two Walkers, and three Morgans. Only five failed, so my overall success rate was 64.5%. I received six green stickers and three coveted gold stickers -- for a 21.5% success rate on gold stickers. All six of the Buffalos stickered. Checking the CAC population numbers, the 1931-S Buffalo and the 1931 FB Mercury are each one of only four with gold stickers. So pretty special coins. I'm really happy with the results.

Awesome first submission! In dozens of submissions, I have only received a total of four gold beans so you nearly passed me with one sub.

Fantastic Submission! 9 for 14 is pretty good no matter what, but when 3 are gold's, that is awesome!

Ha, if I was a dealer, I would, but I'm just a collector. I am going to sell three of the five coins that didn't sticker. Two of them I like even though they didn't sticker, so I'm going to keep them.

Thanks for all the compliments. Coming from coin collectors with a lot of experience, it means a lot.

In case it may interest any of you, my favorite coin of the nine is the 1931 MS64FB Mercury. It is a coin I purchased raw way back in 1995. Then sometime between November 2005 and December 2011 (hence its PCGS Gen 4.4 holder), I had it sent in to PCGS for grading. I've always felt it was really nice for the grade, if not under graded. Getting a gold sticker validates that thought. I was pleasantly surprised when checking the CAC population to learn it is one of only four with a gold sticker.

You got great results; especially with the early Buffaloes which are tough.

What did not pass and do you know why?

Two Mercurys, a Walker, and two Morgans did not pass. No note on why, so no PVC, probably just not CAC worthy.

While others may disagree, I'm not sure JA always notes when it's PVC,

Very nice results, CAC has been very tough lately on everything.

That would be interesting to know if so. I have read and been told that a coin with PVC was noted as such. Maybe not.

I have heard that also. That's why I'm thrilled with my results, even though two of my failures baffle me.

@bammbamm If your friend submits for you again and he has a collectors membership, you might want to ask him to put a note to John in the paperwork, requesting any feedback on coins that didn't pass. I never realized this was a possibility until after a few submissions, but I have appreciated the response I received thereafter.

It's just a small yellow or red sticker with a brief reason, but it helps provide insight into what he's seeing.

I have had mixed results asking for comments from CAC, sometimes they oblige sometimes not.
I have actually stopped asking and will occasionally get the small red sticker with a note…

It could also be implied as having doubt in your submission to ask for feedback on those coins that don't sticker. It's like expecting disappointment instead of being confident that all your coins in a submission will sticker. I know that it isn't reality that you'll receive a 100 percent success rate, but there's nothing wrong with having a confident attitude and faith in your own grading ability.
