I'm really excited about my latest December pick ups.
After waiting a few years to replace the 1980 OPC Gretzky I sold during the run up, I finally found one I can be happy with. I've been in the hobby almost 40 years but it never ceases to amaze me the amount of OPC cards with a significant tilt even in high grade... finally found one I could live with for my personal collection (without having to go the PSA 9 route).
As for the other 3 cards, I'll be darned but these new sparkly modern cards are finally starting to grow on me! I added 3 Derek Sanderson cards to my collection of 74 auto'd cards. I especially love The Cup and and the Acetate Clear Plexi card in which the auto looks 3D on the card in person.

i wonder if i'm the only individual in this hobby who gets drunk, passes out, wakes up on their keyboard with ebay pulled up, and has zero recollection of what went down
Wanted for my raw collection, purchased from the original owner. I love the stories from people who managed to protect their cards and keep them from being tossed in the trash by obsessive cleanly Moms.
Piniella was a huge clutch hitter for the Yankees. If there was a man on second and two out down one in the 9th inning he was one of the top three Yankee hitters from that time that a Yankee fan would want up. Played hard every game - reminds me of how Paul O'Neil would play.

I adored Lou as Cubs manager, particularly in 2008. One of my favorite seasons. Unfortunately, he flamed out pretty quickly after that. He also managed Seattle's 116 win season in 2001, and of course Cincinnati's most recent WS in title in 1990. He deserves better credit for his managerial history.

Seems to be printed at a tilt along the bottom. The first "A" in Alan looks further from the border above it than the last "S" in SS. I don't think most 79's are actually cut at a tilt, just odd printing.
As a fun side project, I have started a little HOF baseball announcer collection. I recently picked up the Vin Scully and Harry Kalas to go along with some of my others.
Loved Eric Davis as a kid. This was one of my favorite cards of his. Mine was creased in all corners, but it still stood on top of my pile of cards that were on my dresser. Just thought (still do) that this was a such a cool card.
Slowly reacquiring some of my favorite Eric Davis cards as I go.

1976 Football Cellos?
I have a Yankees stub and got lucky to get this one for a good price from Inside the Ball Park Collectibles.
The 5th game of the 1955 World Series was won by the Brooklyn Dodgers 5-3 over the Yankees largely because of 2 Home Runs hit by Duke Snider
Added to my Chipper Jones Topps Base PSA 10 set with the 1997. This gets me to 12 of 17.
Also picked up my 38th 1955 Topps All-American.
