I think this civil war token is portraying such a powerful statement. I searched a long time to find one that you can actually read North on the one sleeve and South on the other shaking hands to signify the end of the war.

I’ve shared this before, but seems appropriate for this thread……
Lincoln death token. Produced in 1865 so basically immediately after Lincoln was shot. In his grief, the engraver took some drugs and then decided to make a medal that seems to want to combine some of George Washington’s portrait features with Lincoln’s. At least that’s my theory.
Only rendition of our 16th president I’ve ever seen featuring a mohawk and rat tail……(both of which seem to me to be basically 19th century cut and pasted directly from classic Washington portraits)

Here are a couple of the copperhead stick pins that the copperhead southern supporters wore. Both were made with cut-down large cent.
This one has lost is pin, but I have never seen another one.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?5 -
Here is a nice example of the "king of Hard Times tokens." This pro-Jackson piece is listed as Low #1 and the sub varieties of it are listed as #1a, 1b etc. in Rulow.
Here's a second one I had before I bought the really nice one. This is not quite the same as the first one the obverse.

As far as my Peace Forever Token post goes, I do not care about the politics surrounding a coin. I do not buy coins for any political reason nor do I post anything to elicit political conversation. As far as me saying it signifies the end of the war should have been said better, to me in this day and age that is what it signifies to me and what we strive for Shake hands and peace forever. But thanks for the clarification.
