The Bears immediate future depends on the health of their O-line and their defensive secondary. Keeping the key players on the field will give them a shot. At the playoffs. There's too many good teams in the NFC right now. The next month is going to be a dogfight with lots of interdivisional games. As mentioned above, year after year after year of nothingness will definitely keep me amongst the skeptics. But I'm getting closer to a scream. Bear Down!

i am still in disbelief that my team is sitting atop the NFC standings after week 13
i just can't believe it
in order for you to fully understand why i'm so incredulous, you must first try to imagine what it's like to be a Bears fan
when you've experienced year after year after year of nothingness, trying to wrap your mind around 9-3 & 1st in the NFC after losing to the Vikes in week 1 and getting boatraced by 31 courtesy the Lions in week 2 is just too much to comprehend
like if someone had some up to me after 52-21 to Detroit and offered me a futures wager whereby i shove everything i own into the middle and i'd win a quarter as long as the Bears weren't in 1st place in the conference after week 13, i would own not one thing right now
I am sincerely happy for you and Da Bears!!! I am with Perk and am hoping for an 1985 rematch, 40 years later. just really wanting a different result. that was a blood bath!

that FG "attempt" was really weird. never seen anything like it.
Ive seen it in a HS game but it was a designed fake FG which this clearly wasnt. Theres really no excuse for that to have happened. Theres enough quality kickers out there Im cutting you right away if you do that unless you slipped in the mud or snow which wasnt the case

I hope he rides the Pine Pony for the rest of the season and the team lets the two rookies get some experience. We already know what Watson can do, which isn't much.

You need to because if he plays this season you're going to have a reality check.
i have witnessed this same song and dance with Dallas soo many times. people are just dying to label them an SB contender. they start a 3-game winning streak by beating that Division II college team in Nevada, followed by B2B wins over KC & Philly and everyone loses their minds. are the Raiders good? don't answer that. are the Chiefs good? are they? are the Eagles good? didja see that performance against my team the day after Thanksgiving? this little run by the Cowboys is illusory. what happened the week prior to this streak? they couldn't even beat Arizona at home. what about the week before that? they got blown out by the Broncos.
i'm not buying what the Cowboys are trying to sell. a regression toward the mean is imminent, and i think it happens tonight
I’m never buying in with Dallas but I think this team is different. Pickens has made the offense different. Detroit is not good against the pass and their rush is non existent. I can see a 31-20 Dallas win
W.C.Fields "I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted.

Yup. Doesn’t mean I can’t see a Dallas victory.

I picked Detroit but wouldn't be a bit surprised if Dallas wins, I was torn on that.
Dallas offense can overcome their D if they are firing off on all cylinders but I'm sure they will probably only score 10 points tonight since I bet that in my dreaded parlay's
44 points from Detroit on a night where I wasn't blown away by the offensive effort. Not bad. But they lost Brian Branch for the season. Looking like a replay of last year where they have 5000 defensive guys on IR.

He gave the excuse that "the ball was moving"
Thats insane. Was he high or something seeing double? That just makes me want to cut him from the team more. Just say you misjudged it which is bad enough. At least he wouldnt be trying to blame someone else when all videos show that ball clearly wasnt moving, wasnt even laces in
I still don’t know about QBR. For instance, Jarrod Goff against Dallas had a 111 passer rating, high completion percentage, high yards per completion, 1 TD, zero picks. No fumbles and only sacked once.
So how does that translate into a 44 QBR for that particular game? 🤔
QBR just does not like Jarod Goff. Look at his very high passer rating and very low QBR for the season.
Edited- the only negative I see on his stat line for the Dallas game is two rushes for -2 yards. But that’s not unusual for a QB, wouldn’t think that would drop his QBR too much

I read up on it and it's a geeky weird stat, it places value on plays so if I'm understanding it correctly if a team has a comfortable lead and the QB throws for a first down or chunk play it's "Value" is less than if the opposing QB did the same thing but his team is down so it has more "Value"
That's what I got from reading about it, I could be wrong but I think that's how the value is calculated in some ways

What a disaster of a season for the Vikings. For those above that stated McCarthy isn't good - you were right - so far.
Mainly posting to say you were right - he has been terrible. That said, I'm not giving up on him - yet.
Too early to tell if McCarthy is going to be any good.
Offensive line looks like it's going to be almost healthy this week. Rookie starting right guard is questionable, everyone else will start.
Not sure if McCarthy really had a concussion last week or if they just wanted to look at Brosmer. Max did not do very well against one of the best defenses in the league.
I'm ALMOST hoping that the Vikings struggle for the rest of the year so we can get a high draft pick, but then I remember that this regime is clueless on draft day.
I hope the offensive line can stay healthy and give J.J. enough time to develop, he needs to stay healthy as well.
We're going against the Commanders 28th ranked defense, so if KOC doesn't totally screw us with this idiotic play calls, we should have success moving the ball.

I really don’t think it’s too early to tell what JJ is. This is basically the same team as Sam Darnold led last year. Sure, every team has injuries but a QB should overcome some of it and at least show some promise. I see zero so far

Darnold was an experienced starter in the league with 66 games played and 4 full years as a starter, before coming here.
McCarthy has started a grand total of 6 games to this point, NONE before this season.
I don't know if you're watching the Vikings or just seeing highlights. But the offensive line has pretty much been decimated with injuries this year. The back ups are not good.
NOBODY can complete passes when running for their lives!
AGAIN, I'm not saying JJ's the "answer", but it's ridiculous to say he can't be a solid quarterback after this amount of time.
Today should be a better chance to see what he can do. Offensive line only missing 1 starter and Washington has not played well on defense.
Hope KOC kicks field goals instead if going for it on 4th down. He's an idiot!!!!!
GO JJ! GO VIKINGS!

what is with so many achilles injuries around sports lately? I know they always have happened, but it seems the frequency has gone way up the last few years.
glad to see JJ having a good game so far. he seems to get dumped on a lot lately, but he is basically still a rookie. nice seeing him have some success.
i flipped it to that game and i have a couple of thoughts
good on McCarthy for playing well today, happy for him
every single one of those Commanders players should give their paychecks back after this game. they went from emptying the tank to beat the Broncos a week ago to absolutely, positively, unequivocally not giving two pop tarts about this game today against the Vikes. one of those most conspicuous idgaf performances i've ever witnessed

Bears & Pats are a combined 20-5
and if the season ended today, KC & Detroit would be heading to the casa

my #1 wish for tonight's game is that Detroit be faced with 4th and 5 fifteen times
i wanna see what happens
All in the red zone or on their own 30 would be the best version, I'm betting 0 for 15 in FG's and Punts
I wanted to pick Dallas in the pick-em but I still couldn't convince myself that Detroit can't win the game regardless what Campbell decides to do.
FG!!!
