Post a Beautiful Coin Design - One Side Only

The Gobrecht seated liberty design as a concept is one of the most beautiful American coinage designs. Unfortunately, when the designs were reworked by Hughes in 1839-40, it was mostly for the worse. Once exception is the half dollar, which resulted in a more balanced design and was actually an improvement over the 1839 no drapery version.

    @Bullsitter . I have always thought the Lincoln cent was an attractive coin on both sides. I will add, though I prefer the wheat reverse, I still found the memorial reverse to be attractive and I would not put Licolns in this thread. just my opinion. james

    @Copperindian Yeah, one of my favorites too. St Gaudens said he thought it was the best American coin design.
