I asked AI to tell me a story...

In the Commonwealth, where everything was BOOMIN, the gutter wars raged on. Copper strutted proudly, shimmering in the sun, declaring, “I am the metal of kings!” Semper Fi rang out from rooftops as builders saluted their craft, though no one knew why Marines were suddenly involved in gutter politics.
Aluminum zipped in, light and flashy, boasting speed and efficiency. Steel stomped through, heavy and loud, shouting, “Strength above all!” Zinc, mysterious and aloof, just nodded like it knew secrets no one else did. Every meeting ended with someone yelling RGRDS! and storming out, leaving behind blueprints and half-eaten beignets.
Then, just as the debate reached fever pitch, a golden glow filled the room. Gold himself appeared, dripping with arrogance, and thundered:
“Enough! I am the true metal of kings. Copper? That’s for peasants polishing pennies!”
Gasps echoed through the Commonwealth. Before anyone could respond, a suave gentleman stepped forward—Silver, polished and refined. He tipped his hat and said,
“Gentlemen, allow me to offer my services. A gutter of Silver—sleek, noble, and practical. Why settle for peasants’ metal or gaudy crowns when you can have elegance?”
The room fell silent. Semper Fi whispered like a distant drumbeat. And so, in the land where things were BOOMIN, the gutter saga took a turn no one saw coming.

    ENJOY!!

It's all about what the people want...

Looks like some folks bought some big contracts for Dec.

  • coastaljerseyguycoastaljerseyguy Posts: 1,747 ✭✭✭✭✭

That is for > 475,000,000 troy ozs. (yes million) since each contract is for 5,000 ozs. Might be wrong but is that 14.9 tons?

People are waking up to in this modern age silver is even more important than their morning coffee.

Nothing operates at all any longer until silver works first. It's price is discordant.

    I get 475,000,000 / 12 toz = 39,583,333 pounds = 19,792 tons. Or do I need more coffee?

  • carew4mecarew4me Posts: 3,524 ✭✭✭✭

    475,000,000 / 14.5833 toz = 32,571,503.02 lbs = 16,285.75 tons

Yep I divided by 16 & not 14.5, still a lot of silver to move if delivery is the settlement option.

    It's 14,772.5 metric tons.

    475,000,000 ozt * 31.1 g/ozt = 14,772,500,000 grams

There are 1,000 grams in a kilogram and 1,000 kilograms in a metric ton (tonne).

    14,772,500,000 grams * 1 tonne / 1,000,000 g = 14,772.5 metric tons.
