Rick Snow’s Photo Seal of Approval on my Newly Purchased Indian Head Cent.

Little by little, my Indian Head cent collection keeps growing. This

is the latest addition with Rick Snow’s Eagle Eye Photo Seal sticker. The radiant luster and color hues really make this coin “pop” in hand. Oh yeah, and another cool feature is the semi-circular O clash mark left by the word ONE in front of her face.

Nice, looks fully red to me.

It’s a great looking coin but to me, no more than roughly 20% RD and the remainder, RB.

It looks like a red to me.

From photos provided I feel a RB designation could be justified, but inhand might be a different story and If Rick held it and said RD, then I would go with RD.

Edited to add: Sorry I mistook the label as saying RD, as I said I would agree with Rick Snow's assessment as well as PCGS Grader.

The label says "RB." Why the disrespect for the professionally assigned color designation? After all, the grader at PCGS had the coin in hand not an image of it to assess.

I never heard of "20% RD and the remainder RB" before now. Wouldn't the piece be either RD or RB?

I don't disagree with PCGS's RB determination; BUT, I am really impressed you are able to confirm RB from a picture!

Everyone. My intent was to show a newly purchased IHC that was graded MS65 Red/ Brown, with an Eagle Eye Photo Seal sticker from Rick Snow. That is all. While each can make their own observations from a picture, calling it RD or RB, my intention was just to show the sticker and red/brown colors. It’s not red, it’s red/brown as indicated on the holder. Zack.

I’m not able to confirm RB or RD from pictures. I’m only able to say what the color appears to me to be in the images provided. I’ve seen many RD copper coins in hand which look RB in their pictures. I’ve also seen a lot of RB copper coins in hand which appear to be BN in their images.

The same goes for opinions of a coin’s grade based on images. We might have very different opinions, were we to see the coin in hand.

Zack, things could be much worse😉 As in, what if your coin had been designed RD and a number of responses said that it looked RB (rather than it being RB, but looked RD)? Or what if, rather than all of the comments had been negative (rather than all of them being positive)?

    Congratulations!

Mark, I totally agree with you. The comments have all been very positive and I’m extremely happy. We’ve all purchased coins that we thought were acceptable, but others perceived as dogs. I’m good! Thanks, Zack.

Thanks Don. I picked that up at the Batavia show the end of October. Did you go to the RNA show last Sat., Sun? Saturday was packed.

As it's been pointed out before, you cannot really grade, etc. spot on from pictures alone. Lighting, certain angles don't show total surface contacts, luster, and more.
That being said, the coin does look Red to me from the OP's posted pictures. Either way it's a very nice looking specimen. B)
