Anyone else getting their settlement checks from GreatCollections® within 10 days after close?

GoldbullyGoldbully Posts: 18,080 ✭✭✭✭✭

Thank you to GreatCollections for such prompt settlement proceeds.

My last auction closed on October 19th, just received check in the mail. ☺️

My last three or four settlements have arrived well within 2 weeks, that includes U.S. Mail from California to Maryland.

Thought I should give credit where credit is due.

I went with ach deposit after a check they sent never showed up.

Weird thing about it is I have usps informed delivery and saw the pic in my email of the envelope to be delivered from them. No clue if it was misdelivered or stolen at some point.

I believe ach deposit to be a safer option and it is faster as well. Usually within days of auction end.

  • can you describe your overall experience selling on GC? I have some coins that I'm thinking about selling but it's scary to me because i've never sold a coin to a third party before and GC seemed like a good option of selling my slabs.

I got mine in 8 days in September.

I got mine in five days traveling from CA to FL. My experience was excellent selling $200-500 coins. Even better if you're selling >$1000 coins because there is no seller's fee.

I rate this company A+ in customer service and reliability.

I have had some great surprises with coins getting top dollar and others, not so much.

But, hey that's to be expected as the pool of GC bidders is a dynamic, yet a fairly consistent entity over time.

You should know what your coin is really worth and in most cases you won't be disappointed with the result.

If you have a particularly eye appealing coin, you will be very pleased with the GreatPhoto imaged by @PhilArnold.

I have been happy with virtually every image, especially if there is no TrueView available.

In addition, I don't think you will find a better fee structure anywhere around for sellers.

If you still find it scary selling through a third party, just send one coin to GC so you can get a feel for the process.

    Good Luck.

GC is a class company .No Bs buying or selling

The way I look at it is you’re not actually doing any of the selling. They do it all for you. Your 1 job is to get the slab in GC’s possession, and they literally handle everything.

A+ experience over many many years (though I no longer consign coins to them very often, I'm still buying from them). The folks who run GC are the exact kind of folks I would trust with my (most expensive) coins.

References: Too many to list. PM for details. 100% satisfaction both as buyer and seller. As a seller, I ship promptly and keep buyers updated.

I'm waiting on a settlement now from Sunday the 26th, so will see. One thing I liked is that the sales have already paid off a coin on layaway. The coin is marked as paid. There is still a balance coming in a check.

@goldenboy89 . i am just a small time collector but I have had about a dozen sales experiences with Great Collections. They are top notch and do it all from taking great pictures to giving a reasonably fast payment.
Here are the things you have to do. Follow their instructions closely so they are sent properly and sold.
Don't set unreasonable expectations. There is a regular supply of sellers who expected twice the current market for THEIR coins. GC is an auction house. they don't buy your coins ; other collectors do. They also have modest fees. Yet someone is always surprised their coins were not sold for no fees.
I wish you nothing but the best and hope I may end up owningone of your coins if it is in my area. James

Positive experience. I was in your shoes a few years ago and decided to sell off a coin I got as part of a group.
Andy commented when I consigned "Nice coin, should bring a premium" and he was correct. That being said this is
an auction. Some coins I've sold through them have sold for more than I expected, others for less, and the majority
for what I expected. Also, I've always been treated that my consignment is appreciated even though they're small
in the grand scheme of things.
