I cannot say with confidence that Todd will like this coin, since one of his many positive attributes is he has high standards. There’s a fingerprint on the obverse, but I’m ok owning this, as this date is tough in this grade. Other collectors though, will react the same way Mrs. Lincoln did when asked by a reporter, “So, other than the assassination, how was the play?”. Other than the fingerprint, it’s a great coin, lol.
There are 195 in this MS64 grade (92 by PCGS and 103 by NGC). Of those 195, only 37 merit a CAC sticker!

From my good friend Lance Keigwin @lkeigwin this coin once lived in a PCGS MS61 holder.
The story goes that Lance was convinced it was better than a 61, so in true "if you believe in the coin you should crack it out and send it back raw" ... he did just that. He kept the tag.
When I bought it he said he didn't want to talk about it again. It had come back as a 58, and I think he was still a little bitter over it all, still convinced it was a true Unc. I think it had been a few years prior and sometimes those things can fester.
I thought it was a premium coin and liked it as a 58, and honestly could have seen it as a 58, a 61, a 62 ... or dare say, even a 63. But for the real premium 58 CBH's, this is often the case. I went ahead and sent it to CAC in my next group and it garnered a green sticker.
I still use Lance's description (other than I added the pedigree's).

Here's the only CBH I have decent photos for, and they are GFRC photos. The coin has golden toning. It is being carefully avoided by CBH collectors over at GFRC. Maybe they are saving it for you, but I'm not sure. Happy Birthday!

Tom @pcgscacgold , thank you for starting this post. I would have never considered such a thing, and yet it made me feel good all day long yesterday (and again this morning).
Also there are stories within this thread, as I was involved in a few of the acquisitions and am very familiar with a couple others shown. As each was posted it made me stop and reminisce just a bit. Some of the coins here are just fantastic and I would love to see every one of them in hand if I ever get the chance.
And finally, while I hope to have many more Birthdays to come @MsMorrisine , one a year is quite enough!

Happy birthday, belated. Here's an MS61 which might be cheating since it has a gold bean on it. It shows strike weakness which we can conclude that PCGS and CAC determined that was not wear, probably due to the fact that it's the 6th use of the obverse and the 6th use of the reverse. Behold, 1832 LM-11.2 R5.
