I can just imagine how bad the rhetoric would get within the Titans fan base if Mike Vrabel shows up on Sunday and beats Bill Callahan, the guy that replaced Mike as the Titans HC not to long ago. NE is having their best run in years while Tennessee might be heading towards b2b first overall picks.
They need to find that next Ben Johnson type of play caller to start developing Cam Ward.

This has been a crazy sort of season so far. The Chiefs are 3-3, the Ravens are 1-5 and the Baker Mayfield inspired Tampa Bay Buccaneers lead the NFL at 5-1. It is nice to see the Buffalo Bills keeping sanity alive, though, as they maintain their pattern and now find themselves at 4-2 with the Sports World in a panic. Nothing to worry about, this is what the Sean McDermott led team does every season, look like World beaters to a point, fall off a cliff only to regroup and finish nicely. I laugh about it but I don't think they're laughing in Buffalo right now. The finniest thing is that the resurgent Patriots are now in possession of 1st place and probably jubilant about it.
Think about it, no Tom Brady and no Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots are in 1st place!! Oh yeah, the Cleveland Browns now have a Draft pick somewhere around 2-4 and if the Jets would only win a game that might improve.

shout-out to Ben & Caleb. not going to go crazy and call us a SB contender or even a team that's vying for a playoff spot (subject to change as the season evolves), but i like what i'm seeing. i'm detecting glimpses that previously have been a mirage. in years past, when Detroit beat the brakes off of us in game 2, we'd be 1-4 at best after game 5. the unraveling process would be in full effect. as it stands, we haven't lost a game since that abomination and our head is above .500. that's 1,000% the coach & the maturation process of the QB. there's actual ingenuity and creativity associated with the offense. instead of letting the clock bleed with a timeout at our disposal and losing with ignominy (a la last Thanksgiving when Eberflus was HC.....more on him in a moment), we're marching down the field at the end of games and putting up dubs via game-winning drives. that's two now in consecutive weeks. i dig the hire, i dig our QB, and i dig the direction we're headed.........for once.
now back to Eberflus. easily the worst coach in the NFL. every paycheck he receives is stolen money. so many egregious gaffes as HC of the Bears that i simply choose not to relive them, especially now when i'm quasi-pleased. just know that only one man would take a chance on him after that 3-year nightmare, and that man be Jerry Jones. so very JJ to give his stamp of approval on such a clueless, incompetent individual. seriously, go pull up the team stats to this point. scroll to the very bottom and tell me which team you find as it pertains to defense. i'll be nice and save you the time -- the Cowboys are giving up 411 yards and almost 31 points per game. DFL in the NFL. you get three guesses as to who their DC is, and the first two don't count. dude is so, so bad at what he does for a living.
bottom line is that Cleveland is a place where quarterbacks go to die. if you played well prior to going there, you never play as well when you're a Brown (Watson). if you didn't live up to expectations as a Brown, you usually elevate your play after you leave (Mayfield). if they take you with the #1 pick in the draft, you throw more interceptions than touchdowns in your career and you're out of the league in a handful of years (Couch). if it's later in the 1st round, they may very well draft a total miscreant whose career ends before it ever gets started (Manziel).
no offense to the resident Brownies, but it's just a god-awful organization. if you can get out of there with a pulse, you stand the chance of resurrecting your career. or better yet, avoid going there altogether
edit: the last time Cleveland won its division i was a junior in high school..........and i'm 53 years old

In fairness to the Browns and Baker Mayfield I don't really think he "died" in Cleveland but he did make one crucial mistake and it almost cost him his career. When Anthony Schwartz quit on the ball and Baker's pass was intercepted Mayfield never should have tried to tackle that ball carrier. If not for that one lapse in judgement he could possibly still be in Cleveland. To compound that mistake there is shared blame between the team and Mayfield to hurry him back from the injury. Hindsight is always 20/20, but if he would have had surgery right away and the team would have been more patient things may have been different. But, alas, if my Aunt had balls she'd be my Uncle.
When Cleveland initially drafted him it really pissed me off because he was too much of a showboat. I came to appreciate his talent and thought he was one of the best at rolling to his left and throwing on the run across his body. He seemed to mature right in front of our eyes and that college gunslinger mentality had left him. When he went to Carolina and then the Rams I think he was humbled, did some soul searching and reached inside of himself to resurrect his career. In all honestly, that time period could have broken a lesser man but Baker rose to be what he is now.

He is an easy guy to root for. I really did like the stupid commercials he made when he was back in cleveland. you remember, the ones where he was living in the stadium and watering the grass etc..
Time for me to face the truth. Buffalo spent all their draft capital on defense and the can’t stop anyone. The line can’t get off blocks. It’s not just Mondays game but all season. Stupid penalties extending drives. Cornerbacks are average at best. Drafting Coleman over Worthy was a huge Beane error. 125 yards this season and can’t get separation. McDermitt and Beane are wasting Josh Allen’s prime years. But I’m still on the band wagon. But the team is mediocre at best

Another point about Baker Mayfield and his time in Cleveland, there was a point when he had a 3rd Head Coach and I think a 5th Offensive Coordinator, maybe it was in his 3rd year. That in itself is a tribute to him, that he weathered that kind of turmoil.

The best thing you can do as a QB if the Browns or Jets draft you is be so bad you get released so you can maybe sign somewhere else where you can succeed. Theres something fundamentally wrong with both franchises where they just ruin every QB other than Fields on the Jets, he just isnt good

It's all right in last night's game, Cincy has a legit offense the D is the issue, they could get multiple first rounders for Burrow.
