Dealers only need refiners when customers are not buying.
Like now?
You're saying there is no customer demand?
No. You're saying that. Dealers are lowering offers because they dont want to take in anymore physical because their refiners have closed the doors. The dealers need the refiners now.
Dealers don't need refiners, they are in the business of selling retail. . . and prices tell us they have buyers.
Were you asleep when econ 101 taught you rising prices reveal a seller's market?
Lol. Earlier you said dealers need refiners. Make up your mind
They dont have the money to keep buying. They need to sell what they bring in to be able to buy more.
Were you asleep in business management class? Oh that's right, you have no business experience.
Seems like some physical holders got their chairs ripped out from under them?
Not so. Only the button clickers that speculate in SLV got their chairs ripped out from under them. And the paper pushers in the stock market as well. Stackers could care less until they are ready to divest a portion.
The metals are recovering nicely already. After the historic runup that we've experienced recently, I would expect some sort of consolidation, but it really doesn't look like this is one, yet.

Really? Seems those "constitutional silver" stackers might be having a hard time finding a buyer.
Tough go when one can't find a counterparty. Imagine showing up to the LCS with your "precious" only to see they dont want it. Yikes!! Not even a chair to sit in the parking lot.

Wasn't it you who recently stated that you don't come here to disparage precious metals? Instead of trying to shed light on what is going on in the market, it seems that you always attempt to create uncertainty about putting money into precious metals. It isn't working.
The cash market in silver has now taken a hit this morning, while silver futures are up. Contango has returned for the time being. Since no one knows what's going on in London, it's fair to assume that the bankers had time to analyze their short positions and to find ways to push money around enough to temporarily dodge the negative outcomes of the squeeze on their positions.
So now we're back to the fundamentals again. India, China, Saudi and the US military will continue to suck up supply in the face of a 5 year supply shortage. The last thing I'd do now is to sell any silver - bars, coins, silverware, .999 or 90% - none of it. This market isn't done by any stretch of the imagination.
Having trouble selling bonds these days? Your institutional customers can't be very happy right now.

.
How are all your stock funds doing this week ?
When local coin shops significantly discount 90% silver coin, that will be a good time to buy from them. But, as far as I have seen, they have not discounted it much (if at all). They apparently have potential buyers. A well-run operation will always adjust buy-sell prices on the fly so as to keep deals happening.

I kinda like being nervous and really excited at the same time.
I'm nervous about what it means to the value of my dollars. I have more of them than I have silver.
I agree. I'd feel much different about the current spot prices if this were a slow, 15 year melt up from like 50 to 150 or 1k to 5k gold.
What bugs me is let's say it is true that it has been manipulated and suppressed for decades. It would stand to reason that 53/oz silver is the best "they" can do to keep the clown show going. What is going to happen to the price when they can no longer do so?
How much are their losses so far? Have they realized their losses yet? Is there even enough money in the financial system to pay that bill? Or will it be printed away, as such things most often are, and bread will be $20 a loaf?

Keep in mind that a lot of futures contracts nearing expiration were bought at a much lower silver price. Could be a lot of "i'll take delivery or cash" events as price continues higher. The only other option for these contract holders is to roll the contract over at a much higher cost and a higher margin.

But if you want to be factually correct, do that to a copper-plated zinc cent instead.
