Where did you buy the coin? eBay?

Returning a coin through eBay is a straightforward process. This should be a wake-up call to you that you may no longer be capable of purchasing coins without putting your money at risk. A very similar situation just recently came up with another Forum member. In these situations, the best advice we can give is to stop risking your money by not buying any more coins. Be happy with the set you have now and do not add to it further.

Once again, returning a coin through eBay is a straightforward process and is guaranteed to get you your money back; this should be your top priority if possible. A trusted friend or family member by your side to help you through it on your own computer would be ideal. If you need to call eBay customer support again, have your trusted helper with you on the phone and have them talk directly to the eBay representative.

You should be able to resolve your problem through eBay that way, but in the unlikely scenario that you do not, your other option would be to request a refund through PayPal or your credit card, depending on how you paid. Once again, you should have your trusted friend/family member with you on the phone call to take the lead.

    Good luck.

Not so unlikely...the purchase was likely at least a couple of months ago but probably more. Credit card/paypal is probably the best bet but getting through the process for OP seems like an uphill battle.

    Good luck @ghoskins !

Thanks; that is a good point. I had thought that eBay's time limit of 30 days for a return did not apply if the item was not as described (such as with a counterfeit) but I just double checked and it appears that I was mistaken about that.

  • I only buy from inside the US and even then only from dealers i know with high feedback. even further I tend to only buy certified coins which im willing to risk the purchase price. cant trust the astards in China they fake everything

Did you contact the seller that sold you the coin on eBay. I bought a coin on eBay and the seller took it for refund after 6 months (it took awhile for me to send to PCGS plus their grading time).

eBay customer service not helpful after a couple months ....

  • This is my reply to the office of the CEO of eBay. I was lucky i found XXXX CEO of eBay on line. They rejected my request to
return to seller saying i was past the 30 for allowing returns even if the coin was counterfeit. that rule is law and will not deviate from it. they suggested i contact the seller and ask for a return.

That's just great. Do you really think someone selling counterfeit coins is going to let me return a coin by asking after 30 days. These people know how long it takes to get a coin through the grading system. Each of the grading companies pcgs cac anaca ngs post the different times that it takes to get a coin through the Id and graded process. (Maybe) Your company knows and allows counterfeits coins to be openly sold on your site. Otherwise you would raise the return time so these fake coins could be returned. That's why I have requested ABC news on your side to start a investigation into your allowing fake coins to be sold, who knows maybe Ca attorney General could take a interest. I have suggest all major grading companies be contacted and collector alike to actually see how many people have been ripped off by eBay by allowing sales of fake China coins who knows maybe Trump would hear about it. The person who sold me the coin has at least 3 more Morgan dollars i would say have started their lives in China listed for sale. There are always a few bad birds who leave a foul taste in your month thanks for taking the time to read Gary

Since the reply above i have tried to get both eBay and PayPal who i used to purchase the coin from to let me have the sellers name and address after 51/2 weeks for grading the packing from the coin got thrown out so now i will have to pay an attorney to get that info for me. I have a small claims court demand letter ready to go just need a address to send to More later
