Well, this is weird…

Stopped for gas somewhere north of Omaha on I-29 and received this one among my change. Wonder where this cent has been for the last 50 years?

That coin while a nice find shows clear wear and is nowhere near mint state.

It's a nice find but not really weird. With over 4.5 billion minted, they are actually quite common. Many were just thrown in the back of grandma's panty draw for years and eventually find their way back into circulation.

Probably sat in somebody's change jar for 49 years until they brought it to a coinstar to cash in.

But if I find a rare coin I'll have to scrub it to decontaminate it. ☠️😷

True but they are getting separated out and hoarded quickly nowdays. I've noticed it is much more rare to receive one lately (last few years). And of course they don't make it out of my possession either.

You might be right. I know when I was a kid if I had find a 50 year old coin like this with all that mint luster, I would have been real excited!!

This is strong looking for a "parking lot coin." ;)

That is not a parking lot coin. This is a parking lot coin.

That is an average quality parking lot coin, I've seen many worse -- and picked them all up. :D

What's weird is that many of the photos here are now smaller and compressed vertically on my computer screen. If I post a coin, the photo shows up as a small photo. What the heck is going on?

I have the same issue going on with my computer, but not my IPhone.

Yep, same issue. I even rebooted and deleted cookies. There was some double posting issues earlier today as well.

Seems like the IT people may have upgraded something. It reduced sizes and/or reduced and vertically compressed every image in every post I see

Good. I was worried that this was only happening on my computer.
