Trying to nail down this quarter. Obverse looks like type 1 1917-s 25 cents but reverse is type 2. It came in a collection with obvious fakes but this one looks more authentic to me. Curious what those of you with more experience think. Thank you.

Looks like a normal 1917 type 2 to me. I'm not sure why you think the obverse looks like a type 1.

Are we still talking about coins?
@Numismaphile As stated above, the coin is a T2. Perhaps because the chain mail is worn and the breast looks exposed, you thought it was a T1. There are other indicators, the branch leaf through L in Liberty, and the number of dots on the shield that clearly show it to be a T1. Hope this helps. I'm not an expert by any means, but your coin has some hints of luster remaining and looks authentic to me. Hope this helps.

Really, all I thought was that she was showing more cleavage than a 1918 girl would reveal. What else can I say, except that when I turned the coin around to get a good look from behind all I saw was this eagle.
She's just having a wardrobe malfunction.
