They havent missed a bowl game in that time so that makes sense. Up until Venables took over they never had a losing season either. They basically were winning 11 or 12 games every year and he came in and has 2 6 win seasons in 3 years. If he cant get to 8 or 9 at least this year its time to get rid of him.
They go to South Carolina, Bama and Tennessee, Texas is a neutral game in Dallas. Missouri, Ole Miss, and LSU are home games. Auburns a home game as well.
Manning hasnt shown me anything yet to believe in him, and Bama has a coach that is to soft for what they should be. Tennessee will be tough as they will probably be a night game where the stadium will be crazy loud

The polls are usually always ridiculous. They always give the benefit of the doubt to the southern teams. Why? I dont know?
AP top 10
Ohio State
Penn State
LSU
Oregon
Miami (Fla.)
Georgia
Texas
Notre Dame
Illinois
Florida State
Finally Illinois getting some respect. I would have Oregon at #3 as I think they would beat LSU.
Ohio State --- overwhelmed an inferior opponent as they should have. To be tested in Week 8. Penn State --- overwhelmed an inferior opponent as they should have. To be tested vs. Oregon in Week 4. LSU --- struggled against a weak team after struggling against overrated Clemson. Hard to understand their ranking so high. Oregon --- overwhelmed an inferior opponent as they should have. To be tested vs. Penn State in Week 4. Miami (Fla.) --- won a squeaker with Notre Dame and hammered a weak B-CU. The truth comes in the next three weeks. Georgia --- easily beat one weak opponent and looked so-so against the next. Tennessee will show the real Bulldogs. Texas --- easily beak a weaker team. Three more weeks till we know the truth about Texas vs. Florida and Oklahoma. Notre Dame --- idle. It's hard to understand how one loss and one week off equates to staying in the Top 10. Illinois --- two easy wins over weaker teams. Hard to judge until they get into their Big 10 schedule. Florida State --- easily beat an overrated Alabama and overwhelmed an inferior East Texas A&M. Here come the Seminoles.
Sometimes I think these Polls are used as a strategic tool to position the teams in the order that the selection committee wants so the game pairings in the playoffs bring the best games. To me that partially explains why LSU is at 3 and Clemson got kicked out of the top 10. Next week, assuming no unforeseen surprises, the positioning will be furthered to get ready for the Week 4 showdown of Oregon vs. Penn State. After that game there will be a shake-up and it will be interesting to see how far the loser falls and how evident bias preferences will be.
Stay tuned.

While its still too early to tell how good they are, I disagree that Duke is a weak team. Illinois was only favored by 3 points. Duke went 9-4 last year.
And that proves nothing about how good they might be. A team with a 7-6 record played in a Bowl game last season, Duke is just not very good and just not very strong, they are weak and bad although they still might qualify for a Bowl game.

I didnt mean it as a compliment more just of how soft their schedule is that gives them a chance to make the bowl. A good team or a great team should have no problem getting there. I wouldnt be shocked if Tulane beats them and they do have Clemson and GT on the schedule, nut I do think they will go 3-1 maybe even 4-0 in their last four games and I have no faith in UNC to be anything.
NC State is down this year and the ACC gets pretty bad fast outside of the top 5 teams for football. Average team that just needs to find a win if they close out their season like they should
Any upsets on the way tomorrow?? I expect the Georgia vs. Tennessee game to be a good one with a probably win by the Volunteers. Other than that I think the outcomes of most games will be victory by the favorites. The big news and helpful information will be how easily they win now that conference schedules will start and the cupcake games are over.
"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety," --- Benjamin Franklin
Well USF is the only team in the country that has a win against two teams that were ranked when they played. Miami better not be asleep at the wheel. GT has the ability to beat Clemson but I wouldnt bet on that game either way. Same with A&M against ND. Georgia Tenn flip a coin but I think GA wins that
Indiana started week 3 with an ass-whoopin' of Indiana State 73-0. Still waiting for some team to break the 80 point barrier. There are a couple of good early games, at least they have the potential to be good and might show us something about the rest of the season:
--- Wisconsin vs. 19 Alabama. The 'Tide should win, but will it be a struggle??
--- 12 Clemson vs. Georgia Tech. Are the Tigers a pretender like I think, a loss/close game here could drop them out of the poll.
--- Oklahoma and Oregon should win easily and Michigan is in the same boat as Clemson.
Better games later in the day.

And Clemson continues to struggle. Their pattern developing in these last two games is to fall behind early and then have to play catch-up. Today vs. Georgia Tech looks like one of those games where the last team with the ball wins.

Whatcha think about Georgia vs Tennessee?
I like Georgia. Id probably give the edge to Tennessee if it was a night game. Its going to be the first big test for Aguilar and Georgia is a rough introduction to the SEC for a QB coming from App State.
Side note Nico must be must really be regretting his decision by now. Leaving Tenn to make less money to go to a terrible UCLA, pay higher taxes, and get blown out by a terrible New Mexico team at home in from of like 500 people lol
And Clemson has fallen, in line with what I thought, and has answered my question above: Who will Clemson lose to next?? This all brings up some interesting lines of thought pertaining to LSU.
It was my thinking that Clemson was ranked too high in the initial AP pre-season poll, I believe they were at number 4. This resulted in what many of us saw as SEC bias when LSU vaulted to the 3rd spot based on their defeat of Clemson. In a prior argument, @Basebal21 pressed on the significance of SOS, Strength of Schedule, when determining the poll ranking. I submit now that LSU is overrated, that this Clemson loss should drag them out of the 3rd position.
Thus, the Georgia vs. Tennessee game which is just now getting underway, looms large in the AP poll standings and might actually break the psyche of ESPN, Paul Finnebaum and the legion of SEC loyalists. It is possible though not probable that the top 3 could be from the Big 10, Ohio State/Penn State/Oregon, and based on everything else that happens today we could see the SEC pushed out of the top 5.
Interesting. Clemson will be lucky to stay in the top 25.

Penn State is yet to play a real game including today. We can talk about them when they finally play a real game, Oregon hasnt played a real game either, Northwestern and Oklahoma State are trash

Oklahoma will start the season 5-0, at worst 4-1 but yea that second half off the schedule is absolutely brutal

I just saw this stat from the BTN, Oklahoma since 2000, has the best win percentage at home in college football.
