OK. its over this year and possibly for years to come!
John Henry will not step up to the plate and do what's necessary to make them a winner!
Fans that want to see baseball do not just stay away from the ball park.
People like me continue to buy the MLB package so he is fat and happy with money rolling in.
Last night was the last straw for me. That was the worst decision making I have ever seen.
I will not be getting the baseball package next year or direct TV either.
Cora and his inept crew are idiots along with all of the management team.
Weak excuses were made for not improving the team when they could have at trade deadline.
Now they sign a worn out 1st baseman who cant hit and Yankees pick up what they need to win.
I have sold all my coins so will be leaving this forum.
I will miss all and all the guys and gals here.

I could remember years ago just following by browsing the sports page and mostly just looking at the standings.
Since I have not done that in years now, I brows on MLB.com which they send me daily . You can follow very closely this way and it cost $0.

Another back and forth game. Would not be surprised if it's an extra inning affair.
Sox at the very least better split the series here.

Always good to beat the Yankees

Anthony saves the day...although the Yankees had several opportunities to put it away.

14 LOB doesn't say much for the bats.

Boston didn’t deserve Pedro Martinez. He would drill each and every one of you in the back for your faithlessness.

i used to call Pedro M the baddest 170-lb man on the planet

i followed the Expos in the 90s and he was filthy

never forget the perfecto he had against the Reds. then, in the 8th inning one got away from him and he plunked Reggie Sanders, who for some inexplicable reason thought he was intentionally throwing at him. one of the most mind-numbing things i've ever seen in any sport

look at Pedro's reaction. think he really wanted to hit him?

If May beats Rodon today the Sox wont need to fly out of there on a plane they will be so high on themselves!

  • pdoidoipdoidoi Posts: 869 ✭✭✭✭

The Red Sox are on ESPN tonight.
Going for the sweep of the Yankees. Red Sox are 8 - 1 against the Yanks this year.

Finish it up tonight. Be careful they don't let down tomorrow against the zeros, O's

    Red Sox win 5 - 0
    Yankees win 5 - 1
Toronto losing in the 9. Twins 7 Jays 4 Bot.9th

  • tommyrusty7tommyrusty7 Posts: 2,223 ✭✭✭✭

That has been a pretty good looking road trip so far and is definitely a good sign. Hope they can keep it up as the season is winding down fast with September closing in on them !

  • pdoidoipdoidoi Posts: 869 ✭✭✭✭

Red Sox keep winning and still not gaining.
Yanks and Jays also keep winning.

Red Sox got a series with Pirates , Skenes pitching tonight.
Jays at Brewers , Yanks at White Sox

  • pdoidoipdoidoi Posts: 869 ✭✭✭✭

Possible sweep, for the Pirates .
    Red Sox get smoked 10 - 3. Score should have been 30 - 3.
Pitching by the Sox was terrible. May was in trouble from the beginning.
May and Hicks need to go.

The good news, Jays lost . Yanks play later tonight.

  • perkdogperkdog Posts: 32,005 ✭✭✭✭✭

Sox should bounce back today, doubting very much they are getting swept by the Pirates

  • MCMLVToppsMCMLVTopps Posts: 5,025 ✭✭✭✭✭

Today's game is rated at approximately 60-40 in favor of the Red Sox. With 25 games left, each game is so much bigger and more important than the one before as the window of opportunity continues to close. The Yankees have won 7 in a row and the Blue Jays have faltered losing 2 in a row. It could come down to a 3-game WC between the Yankees and Sox. Kinda like a chess game, it the Jays come alive and the Yankees continue, the Sox can't move even if they win.

Oddly, I'll get to watch the game as its being broadcast on MLB tv.

I think the Sox have a big hill to climb come mid September, facing the Yankees for 3, Toronto for 3 and the Tigers for 3. The A's and Rays could be spoilers if they take 2/3. Time will tell. Although I stand with my long-ago prediction that this is not a Red Sox year...I'll leave with this contradiction...

    GO SOX

    Jays 12 - Reds 6 8th inning
    Yankees 3 - Houston 0 End of 4th

    20 games to go.
Let the countdown begin. GO RED SOX

  • tommyrusty7tommyrusty7 Posts: 2,223 ✭✭✭✭

I guess Tolle was not the world beater everybody was saying he was as he got his ass kicked tonight. The Yankees lost to the Jays so nothing much has changed. Even if the Sox make the playoffs they are going nowhere.

  • pdoidoipdoidoi Posts: 869 ✭✭✭✭

Sox came back in the 8th to be down by just one run and then gave up 5 more right after. Pitching has not been very good this past week for the Red Sox.

Way too early to tell. That is only his second game in the bigs. Not one Sox pitcher pitched good this week.

The Red Sox young players have the hardware to do the job but not the software needed yet! It takes a few years to develop that. I doubt very much they will be able to get it together this year as they don't have the pitching to carry them to victory! If they can hold on to players like story and Breckman and pick a couple of pitchers this Winter they could have a decent team next year!

Yanks and Jays in NY , rain delay bottom 6th. Yanks 2 - Jays 1

  • pdoidoipdoidoi Posts: 869 ✭✭✭✭

Yanks win over Jays , Yankees 3 - Blue Jays 1

  • pdoidoipdoidoi Posts: 869 ✭✭✭✭

    Red Sox lose.
What the heck happened to the pitching. I think they need a major team meeting and then the pitching staff needs to have a meeting.

  • pdoidoipdoidoi Posts: 869 ✭✭✭✭

Chapman withe the save , 4 strikeouts in the 9th.
Red Sox win Red Sox win. Red Sox 7 Ariz. 4

  • tommyrusty7tommyrusty7 Posts: 2,223 ✭✭✭✭

I missed the last 3 games as MLB blacked them out in Albuquerque. I did see some of todays game on the MLB package which was good!

  • tommyrusty7tommyrusty7 Posts: 2,223 ✭✭✭✭

The season has been up and down. They have tried their best but just DO NOT have the pitching to survive the playoffs. I will not say wait until next year because next year will not come until management comes up with the pitchers it the Red Sox need to compete.

The pricing insanity continues at Fenway. Yankees/Red Sox.
This Friday (12th), Monster tix...Section 10, row 3...SIX THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED SIXTY NIINE $$ EACH
Dugout Box Section 49, row 3...SIX THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED THIRTY NINE $$ EACH

18 games to go, I don't think they'll survive the Yankees or Toronto series. Six with the As could help or be killer losses.

I did find it humorous that the announcers were talking about Cora (the cheater) being on the rail with players. Their thinking was he was trying to keep things loose and not be too tense. What I think Cora was smiling about is he'd be in Puerto Rico soon and loving life.

I will get a better view and more comfortable seat in front of my 75 inch TV with all the comforts of my refrigerator and a bathroom not 10 feet away instead of those uncomfortably small seats and high priced drinks and garbage they serve at Fenway for 25 times more money.

If people will pay then they will sell.
Supply and demand. I guess they figure there are plenty of rich and very rich people in and around Boston and New York.

    Red Sox 7 - Sacramento A's - 0
Crochet 7 shutout innings, 10 strikeouts

May is pitching tonight and they cant afford to lose another game.

You do realize we all have cell phones, or actually watch the game. Its not like you're making a big announcement here.

  • tommyrusty7tommyrusty7 Posts: 2,223 ✭✭✭✭

Sorry to say not all of us have cell phones. I had one for about 2 weeks and could not figure out how to use it. It is a nightmare for us old guys to figure out and now with tomorrows game being on Apple TV I will not get to see the Yankees game either. I missed all the games in Arizona because of my close proximity to their park also. Oh well I'll get over it, I just needed to vent a little bit! Go Sox!
