in true degen fashion, i can't wait until tomorrow morning

life without Shedeur and Hunter commences, and by all accounts G-Tech has a good QB, so it actually starts tonight instead B)

Am all in on the ML with the Eagles next week. But expect a first half scare by the Boys. Make it interesting for the viewership. Then realty/pride sets in and the Eagles prevail.

Looks like Galaxy just waved goodbye to that first number 4 in his total.

You may have analyzed the game perfectly. The Cowboys adrenaline in this game, I think will be at a playoff level. Can they sustain it for the entire game is the question?

The game line didn't move an inch when Parsons was let go. Remained at -7.5 Eagles, and that's what worries me.

Also the Eagles players could have a bit of a swelled head after that amazing Super Bowl romp. So very tough to repeat in this league, and that's certainly one of the reasons.

Penn State went from -44 to -44.5, to now at -42.5

I thought PSU might be at -47 or -48 by now, so I'm not sure what's going on?

This I do know. Historically, Coach Franklin for whatever reason, likes to blow-out these inferior teams early in the season. I didn't like the line going down, figuring the sharpies would also know that about Franklin and jump in accordingly. But I'm sticking with my call. Maybe in the same way that General Custer stuck with his plan at the Little Big Horn. LOL

    Penn State -42.5

I bet the majority of people took the 44 and 44.5 points, not a huge difference at 42.5 but that might look more appetizing to Penn State bettors, I never touch these games, they can put the 2nd and 3rd stringers in for the entire 4th quarter and give up meaningless points to frost your rear end, 42-0 seems like a pretty decent beating unless your laying 42.5 or 44 points lol

A few quick things on that NFL game, future wagering. I'm not going to elaborate but it seems like that website is for an Indian casino, and you have to be at their physical location to place the bet. I think it's basically a ploy to get you to visit the casino. Then gamble on the other games.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I find it hard to believe they would automatically honor all those future bets. I mean you could see a star QB go down in a game, realize it's probably a season ending injury, and quickly smash those future lines, possibly make a killing, before their computer catches up with everything. I've already thought of some other interesting angles which could provide an edge, sometimes a huge edge to the player. I'd have to believe that casino would simply cancel those wagers, and refund the player. A wasted trip to make the wager, then another wasted trip that ya gotta go back there to collect your own money.

Individual casinos certainly do run specific promotions to get you to visit their physical locations, but what I was looking at certainly was not that.

I'm in Missouri, which even though the voters approved online sports betting last November, our esteemed legislature knows what's best for it's constituents, and has been dragging it's feet on implementing it, as well as outright overturning some other ballot items that had been voter approved. We'll see if we actually get online sports betting established here.

Anyway, I have a Caesars account and as long as I'm physically across the state line in Kansas, I can legally wager. I was shocked to see point spreads, moneylines, and O/U for all of the games on the NFL schedule available on the Caesars app. That was certainly something unusual to see.

I have no doubt that they would pay out whatever bet you placed today, though. Caesars has months and months to adjust the lines going forward to draw the appropriate amount of money onto the other side to cover their exposure.

few thoughts as we're less than half an hour away from the scrum

this line has been bouncing all over the place. was at Ohio St -2.5, went down to a pick em, now it's back up to OSU -1.5 at my book

someone dropped 550k on the Horns

Texas' left tackle is a game-time decision with a hand injury, and if he plays he'll be wearing a cast

and one of their receivers is doubtful, with a redshirt freshman in line to get his snaps

i hate feeling good about a wager when I stick it in, only to feel uneasy about it as kickoff nears

    gl us, and go Horns

you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet

I had first looked at Caesars, but didn't see that NFL "futures" wagering on there. Obviously they have futures wagering on props like the Super Bowl winner, etc. But I'll take your word for it that it's on there.

The second link on Google was the one mentioned, and the NFL futures were on there, easy to find.

You can "have no doubt" and that's fine. However the fact is a gambling website can cancel any bet for any reason they wish. It's totally their prerogative. Yes, bettors may get angry if it happens, but there's nothing a bettor can do about it.

Hey, I hope I'm wrong, because as mentioned, there would be some very interesting scenarios on futures betting that in my opinion could easily put the odds in the player's favor. The easy one to figure out is a star QB going down, which would of course affect those futures lines. Then quickly smash the remainder of those futures games of that team, wagering on the other team, before their computer catches up with the information. For example if you see the star QB writhing in extreme pain after a play, and the camera seems to show perhaps a broken leg or torn ligament, and the player is being carried off the field on a stretcher, it would be hard to believe that Caesars would allow any futures bets against that team, until their computer factored in that information.

They probably would honor any futures bets placed say at least a day before that possible injury event. I think you implied that, and I agree. But any wagers placed say a minute or so before their computer catches up with the severe injury report, i doubt very much if Caesars would allow those wagers to be valid.

Yes, of course even if allowed the bet to continue as is, the player is still not guaranteed to win the bet. However say the line moves by 5 points on the computer after the injury info is factored in. If a bettor could choose to move a line by 5 points in any football game, without the odds being reduced, every sports bettor would be a multi-millionaire.

We shall see if it happens or not. If the event happens, and the bettors are allowed to keep their bets, then that would be a nice gift from Caesars wouldn't it? A bookie handing out gifts, that would be a first. LOL

    Texas offense looks HORRIBLE

But to only be down 7-0 is comforting, let's go for the second half!!!

horrendous. i think 76-year-old Archie Manning could have thrown for more yards than his grandson in that first half. wait for it......26.

And i'd love to bitchslap a couple of people on a couple of plays

first, Sark running it up the gut on 4th and 2 when they were in OSU territory. what a brilliant, creative piece of playcalling that was. stupid f*ck

then Texas gets off the field on 3rd down when OSU was driving, that is, until Colin Simmons rips the o-lineman's helmet off. the moment he got flagged i said out loud, welp, he just gave them 7. sure enough. you rarely get away with shit like that.

im really annoyed, if you can't tell

So beautiful drive and you get to the 1.5 yard line on 4th down and Arch Manning dive's headfirst into a pile for zero yards

UT has its pick of the litter from a hotbed of high school talent, then they trot an offense out there that looks like it's playing without receivers

Bummer. I thought Texas would have the edge with that defense but I didn’t consider that they wouldn’t be able to score. Lesson learnt. Good win for OSU in an anything could happen game.

  • galaxy27galaxy27 Posts: 8,622 ✭✭✭✭✭

if Texas had found a way to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, i was going to find a way to give the 159 back. i would've just asked to keep my initial bet. they deserved nothing . waiting until the middle of the fourth quarter to start executing and playing with a sense of urgency..........i'm completely over teams that do that shit. here's an idea for a head coach: before the opening kickoff, tell your team they're down 3 touchdowns. now go play.

    i'm officially done cussing.

OSU deserved the win, i deserved to eat 150
