I saw the o/u line for the game. One would of thought no problem for the over. It's uncanny how they get so close to establishing a line that gets so close to the end score.
Reminds me of a bet I had going in the late 70's. Jets/Colts. Had the over. Needed 3 points in the second half. Not a point was scored all second half. Those beats you remember forever.

My buddy is riding Shane Smith again, he wanted to bet 3k on this but I got plans today so I can't swing by his store to grab the cash and run to the casino so he sent me what he had in his PayPal account to put in the bet for him on my app
Hope this kid doesn't disappoint, last bet was against the Royals who just don't strike out much and now he is facing the Tigers who are 5th or so in the league in strikeouts so fingers crossed for him
If you place a big bet for your friend and it scored really big, how would you handle any reporting IRS wise, if it came to that?

Not to be that guy... but just in case you didn't know, proxy betting for someone else is often frowned upon by the online sportsbooks and is considered by most to be a violation of their terms of service. It can even be considered illegal, depending on the jurisdiction... carry on.
I appreciate that and I believe your right, but as long as you properly report the taxes and are not proxy betting for a minor I doubt they care all. that much really, a couple of friends run a bigger money book and have been doing it for years without a hiccup

I will go to the casino for larger bets, I won't put anything on my app that would be a tax ticket, I got a rich friend who is banned from the casino like my buddy who likes the MLB bets I posted here, he gave me 8k to put in a NBA bet because he was going to be in Florida during the finals and wasn't going to be near a casino and he won, the casino didn't require tax info because the amount win was less than the amount wagered, it was less than a 50/50.bet like he put up 8k and the winnings were like $5100
Anything I do on the app it calculates the win/ loss and I report net winnings during tax season

I want to blame it on analytics but they been ridiculously close for decades lol
The Chiefs just weren't a good play in this loss tonight for reasons already mentioned.
Frankly, I wish they had won this game. Now they are going to be even more motivated in the upcoming game against the Eagles. Any half-decent team certainly never wants to go 0-2 to start the season.

I mentioned this before here or in another thread, that historically against the spread, the favorites win 49.9 percent of the time, and the dogs 50.1 percent of the time. It's always been known in most betting circles that if ya have to make a random bet on the spread, the dog is always a slightly better play.
I'm not sure about the historical O/U. But I'd have to believe that one is extremely close as well percentage wise. Close if not almost exactly a 50/50 coin flip.
From what I've observed this past year from following the bookies computer and the rest, the value if any is in the money line. Look at the Eagles game as a good example. Basically almost everything didn't go well for the Eagles in that game, yet the ML won, but the spread didn't.
Yes the pre-game analysis can be that well the spread on a favorite is always going to pay more, sometimes a lot more if the ML is a short price. However what needs to be factored in is if the favorite doesn't beat the spread, you lose all your capital on that wager. A ML win and you not only keep your capital, but make some profit as well.
That's my 2 mils of a cent analysis, perhaps not even worth that. LOL

Penn State only ahead 10-0 at halftime. Maybe some day I'll learn not to call the favorite on these huge spreads.
Penn State needs 5 touchdowns in the second half to cover. That being said, they will probably score 4 touchdowns, and irritate me even more. 😒

0-2 so far for me in football after coming back from my hissed-off vacation.
Belichick better win this dam ML call for me tonight, or I might go back on vacation again. But this time only maybe for a week. LOL
i've got Troy getting 52.5 and they're beating Clemson 16-0
i think i can safely check that box
it's going to come down to the 4 night games
