Today is my last day at Morgan Stanley

bidaskbidask Posts: 14,057 ✭✭✭✭✭

Yep I am fully retired as of tomorrow after a 44 year career .

After receiving the Eternal, Peh, and Platinum session catalogs in the mail today I have decided to go to Oklahoma City to view some lots and say hello.

:)

I give away money. I collect money.

44 years is impressive. At tax time I must remind myself MS=Etrade except when it's not (yeah its complicated).
Enjoy your well deserved new found freedom.

You realize you’re going to need a new job by the time you total your auction invoices, right?

This is the reason I can’t retire. My collection is incomplete! And prices are up!

It’s hard to stay with one company for 44 years these days. I had a couple one stint that lasted for almost 10. AT&T was a “gold watch company”, but the break up got me in the end. I left because the company was headed south, and I didn’t want to relocate to Manhattan.

    Congratulations!

Maybe , but there are several other great coins up for auction that are not 8 reales cap & rays .

Matter of fact probably could buy a slew of them less than what the 1827 pi will go for .

    We will see.

    Congratulations!!!!

Take it easy for a little while, take care of your physical and mental health, don't go making big decisions right away, let yourself settle into your new life for several months and then, when your mind is clear, at that point you can determine what you would like to do going forward and what will be the best way for you to pursue those yet unfulfilled wants, wishes and dreams.

We all overpaid! That's the name of the game now-a-days.

Did you buy it in the auction or on the floor?

    Auction

I did buy some nice coins on the floor including

    1889/8 go 25’ centavos PCGS 65
    1813 franc PCGS 65
    1847 BB 5 francs PCGS 64+

I thought it was slim picking on the floor .

You have wider interests than me. For me, it would be no pickings.
That's why I rarely go to shows anymore. Cost/benefit just isn't there.

I hope your auction winning was a nice cap & rays.
