1991 U.S. Open semifinals. Jimmy Connors becomes the oldest player in history to reach a Grand Slam semifinal as a wild card(39 yrs old) He was ranked #174 at the time. This ticket was also good for the other men's semifinal between Ivan Lendl and Stefan Edberg. This match would be Lendl's last Grand Slam semifinal. This ticket was also good for the women's final between Monica Seles and Martina Navratilova, which was Seles first U.S. Open title.

1972 Julius Erving rookie

I almost never buy SGC, but the centering on this extremely rare HOF first card (sticker) was too good to pass up. I've wanted one for years and finally pulled the trigger. For context, highest graded examples of this card are a pair of 3's and for total pops, PSA has 13, SGC is 5 and Beckett is none.
I wonder why minor league players were popular enough in Venezuela to warrant a set.
Great card, never heard of it. Love Jim, great hitter.

Went down to the Washington PA show this morning near Pittsburgh. Came away with some cheap unopened packs and some additions to my 71 and 75 sets!
Love me a nice Al Bumbry card. The rest of it too. Nice adds.

Lots of great recent purchases here! Been slow for me, but did manage to find this upgrade!
great card!! i have a psa 8 of that griffey. i do not see to many of this card graded.
Thank you. You are right Larry, there aren’t many out there at all. There aren’t any for sale on eBay now. His minor league cards are few and should command a bit more. I quickly snapped this BIN at a great price.

Been working on it slowly for a long time. Found a guy today that had a bunch of decent shape 71s for $1-2 each. Also found a stack of high numbers for $3 so snagged some that I needed.
What I Collect:
PSA HOF Baseball Postwar Rookies Set Registry- (Currently 80.51% Complete)
PSA Pro Football HOF Rookie Players Set Registry- (Currently 19.80% Complete)
PSA Basketball HOF Players Rookies Set Registry- (Currently 6.02% Complete)
These were acquired last month but I just got around to scanning the group today as it’s been on the fritz of late. However, once I finished, I thought these are such beautiful, vivid cards so I thought it would be ok to post them once again but this time with images that do them justice. I won’t make a habit of double posting. Here goes:
1954 Red Heart Partial Set (11/33)
(And I clearly should have cleaned the glass; the dark spec near Mantle’s lip is on the glass)

My National Pick-Ups. The Aaron Rookie was a private sale arranged before the show. The rest I found on the show floor or at Vintage trade night ('62 Spahn, '67 Palmer, '69 Bench AS and '62 Wynn). Vintage trade night on Saturday night was fun - they gave us a corner of the big trade night room. It looks like I cranked up the color on these but the '53 Fleer Yaz shows I did not. Was able to find some cards with really strong registration on 50s and 60s HOFers I still needed. My other big card - the '52 Mantle was totally not on my radar - but when I found this one - picked it up over the ones I was looking for. The '56 Wynn finishes my '56 HOF Run.
Congrats, Brad on the impressive haul!
I remember last year at the National you were not able to negotiate a deal for an Aaron RC from BBCE….nice comeback. I really like the ‘52 Bowman Mantle, too. Then…that ‘53 Bowman Color Gil Hodges is a stunner! Diamonds are your friend…

Great card, never heard of it. Love Jim, great hitter.
You must always say "Davey" in Goliath's voice:

I couldn't pass up this modern card with my 2 favorite all time players...
That's a beauty!
Congrats on a great card. I hoarded this card and have 37 PSA 10s. I just wish I cashed out in 2020 when they got up over $5k.
