I’m pleased to share this new “Cherry Picked” purchase with my fellow forum members.

It was unattributed either on the PCGS holder, or in the auction description.

I don't believe that is the TDR.

Hi Tom, It’s great to reconnect with you. It’s been a while.

I always appreciate you sharing your learned & expert opinion about coins that I post here on the US Coin Forum.

I’m looking forward to receiving the subject coin, and carefully examining it in hand under magnification with my Binocular Microscope.

The reason I don't believe it is the TDR (FS-801) is because it doesn't appear to have tripling throughout the letters around the perimeter of the reverse or the leaves and stem (especially last leaf) of the olive branch or any of the stars in the field. As such, it has mechanical doubling and is not the FS-801.

Below are a couple close-up images of an 1892 FS-801 that I cherrypicked from a PCGS MS64 holder and when you compare them to your coin you will note the differences immediately.

The TDR also shows strong doubling in the lower bases of HALF DOLLAR, which the OP coin does not have.
