    Not my series. Beautiful coin but that gash on the reverse would keep it from being a grade like 66 for me. congrats again. Nice coin. james

    I think it's netted for the reverse hit. Maybe a point low, but not 68.

    Very nice, I would try to get a CAC sticker and leave in the older NGC slab.

    Yes the obv is very nice and very well could carry the coin to MS66 in todays market inflated grading room. But between the cost to regrade, the loss of the old holder premium (minor for this holder I know) and the minimal value bump between a premium 65 like this to 66 you could be in the hole. As already mentioned send to CAC, if by some chance you get a gold bean that would be the time to consider cracking or regrading.

    Nice gem Morgan but that reverse mark looks deep and the focal point of it doesn't help. The grade seems fair and wouldn't you rather have this at MS65 and have a few members thinking it deserves a bump or at that bump and many thinking it is then overgraded?

    These come nice usually, probably the majority of MS67-69 Morgans are 80s. I'd try cac and hope for a gold.

    Looks like a 66 to me. I think the smartest move would be to send it to CAC

    As someone that collects old holders I personally would not, especially since this would likely sell for far more with the gold bean than even in a 67 holder. But I also think the chances of a gold bean are almost zero, and not everyone cares about the old holder, especially one of these very common gen 4/5 holders.

    is that "gash" on the reverse a planchet flaw and if it is does that even have an effect on the grade?
    It's a Fine looking Morgan that someone would pay a bit more than 65 money

    MS-66-67 OBV/ 63-64 REV, Obverse is 2/3 to 3/4 of composite grade for coin. Barring hairlines or other MINOR problems not seen in photo,
    My grade is MS-66, with a minor possibility of 65+
    MS65 is a tab low for that obverse and MS-67 obviously impossible with that 4 point reed mark on the reverse 85% 66, 15% 65. As always my personal opinion. J.P. Martin

    I think the obv is a near 68. It has that look. Maybe 67+. The rev is the down player. Had those gashes been non-issue it would be an easy 66 or 67.

    Beautiful obverse and it should gold cac..I can't see how it doesn't have a shot
