I hate this set of pictures, which are my own cellphone shots. I need to get this coin properly imaged someday.

Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.

These are all very nice. The 73-s is rare in this grade especially with CAC plus Simpson pedigree!

This is the original design by Christian Gobrecht. It is a minor type that few people recognize.

Here is a No Motto type.

And a with Motto type. I hate to tell you what I paid for this in the mid 1960s. It was under $50 from Stacks'.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. Who doesn't love the dirty gold toning these take on when evenly worn?

I purchased this $10 Liberty raw back in 1998. Sent it to PCGS for grading before 2010, so more than 15 years ago. Never understood why it was given a grade of only AU50. I think it is better than that. Most of the details of the devices are sharp. The fields have the classic New Orleans rough look (did they slide the dies across the floor or use them for floor hockey games?). But where not scuffed, the fields are almost proof-like reflective. Someday I plan to send it to CAC for a sticker.
