I'm going to say the WNBA players will never be satisfied with the salaries and Caitlin Clark the face of the league will eventually walk away after going through another season of horrific abuse that nobody seems to care about.

Im all for players getting as much as possible and advocate for that a lot, but your league needs to be making money and it needs to be an argument over how much of the profit they should get. The highest paid players in the league have been there for years when revenue was even worse. CC comes along and now they have chartered flights which has just made it even harder for the league to make money.

I do think CC does want to be there but would be better off walking away taking some of the other offers and just telling them to have fun. For the most part the younger players are more likable and the veterans seem to be jealous and doing everything possible to sabotage things

Be interesting to see if any US books have a prop bet on whether Caitlin returns next season or not? I'm not sure if that's a type of bet that is legal in the US?

I think Polymarket might put it up there. They offer wagering on virtually anything. Kinda funny, it's a US owned company, yet illegal to use in the US.

IDK, I would imagine the odds are against her leaving since she is only what 23?

What other options would she have right now as far as helping her brand?

Europe or that 3 on 3 league. Rumors are both offers are actually bigger, but that could hurt her on the endorsement side

It sure seems like a safe bet that she won’t retire after this season. Would any of you really bet that she will?

I’m interested in that bet, but I suspect this is just the usual puffery.

Good point. But compared to us average people, she is rich. Overall I'm guessing worth over 20 million dollars.

My old HS football coach used to always say, "Fatigue makes cowards of us all." First time I heard that said, but turns out he got it from somewhere. May have been Lombardi or maybe someone before him.

But the concept is correct, and injuries makes it even worse. Caitlin has been injured a lot lately. I guess we shall see if she successfully heals up or not? And whether or not extra money or her brand is worth risking further injury.

I've got the utmost respect for wrestlers. Some of my football friends, wrestled after football season was over. The kid who was the wrestling starter at my weight class, and was pretty good. A few times we hit the mat for the fun of it, and I would always push him around. I couldn't pin him because I didn't really know how to do it, but despite his wrestling knowledge, he couldn't pin me either. He wanted me to go out for the team, but frankly, i was always so dam tired and beat-up after football season, I just wanted to take the winter off from sports, to get ready for baseball season.

That same HS football coach also used to say, paraphrase, "if I stop yelling at ya it means I don't care about ya."

I guess he cared about me. LOL
