If you have been following Steve Hayden’s announcements on his purchase of the long off the market George Hetrich collection, you will know that he is starting to fill want lists. Thankfully for me one of the first towns he submitted to NGC was Kalamazoo, MI, my hometown. While my primary focus is on Latin American crowns, I am seeking to build a full variety set of Kalamazoo and a few surrounding towns.

From the Hetrich collection, I was able to add two key R1’s! Come to find out Steve is working four(!) Kalamazoo collectors, so glad I got a few that I needed.

Post your Hetrich tokens if you have them!

Beautiful pieces. I love the pull away toning on the first one especially.
I believe these were both struck by Childs, by the way. The second storecard obviously advertising another merchant's business.
    Congrats on the big pickups!
I sure wish Steve would get back to me on my want lists

    Those are some eye-appealing additions!

If I may ask, how many tokens are in the “full variety set of Kalamazoo and a few surrounding towns?” How far along are you and how possible is a “complete” set?

There are 24 combinations and I’m at 15 so far. 5 of the remaining are R9.

I’m also doing Schoolcraft and Paw Paw, MI which have 7 and 10 varieties respectively. I’m at 4 for each town so far.

Here are some more Paw Paw and Schoolcraft I’ve added from Hetrich. R8-R9’s
