Will PCGS do registry set awards this year? Yes, probably with paper certificates again.

Usually, the cutoff date is the end of June. Since it is already June there should be some mention of them.

They did add a few new Washington quarter sets.

  • They have announced the cut off already.

  • Yes, they updated the first three lines of the page and they left the remaining page as it was since last year...

    Its a virtual award right?

It'll be an icon with '2025' next to the set winner.

    Tomorrow is the day.

  • Will there be another virtual album award? I have enjoyed looking at the selections and contributing with a view!

Currently looking for Great Britain only George V coins.

For as fickle as the Set Registry's been these past few years, I wouldn't hold my breath on much of anything. The Digital Album award has been "a thing" for as long as I can remember, but then again, so were the actual award plaques, until they just decided "nah, screw 'em". Then they were "purchasable" award plaques, then pins, then just a slow clap-clap-clap after that.

It does seem like many of the digital album failures from last year have been improved, so hopefully that'll give a little more push for decent award participation. It should also be noted that the 'sticky' post on this forum (the "Vote for your favorite" that's long since expired but still stuck at the top) was dated I think July 27, so presumably the registry team will pick their favorites over the course of the month, and then send those to us to whittle down farther. So, if we don't see anything "on here" on July 1, that doesn't necessarily mean that award category has disappeared.

The Komsco bullion sets weren't updated for the 2024 editions of the coins. The set composition ends on 2023.
    I just pre-ordered the 2025 versions.

  • Two hours to go! Ha! I wonder if anyone will surprise us with last minute updates!

I got a last minute bump on one of mine over the past couple days -- on a slot that I've got five or six sitting in express encapsulation prison still as of 4PM. I feel safe in saying I'll have no last minute surprises to offer this year :-/

  • Looks like those top sets that I have built and am lucky to maintain continue at number 1.

I also have some coins in encapsulation prison (love that term, by the way - they were submitted for restoration service, regular, and it's been way over the stated 35 days now) but while those coins will hopefully update some sets, they are not needed to maintain top spot.

Now the long wait to the banners being updated! Ha!! My money is on it being in November this year.....let's try and be positive, eh!?

All but one of my top set rankings survived, but only one that's fighting for a gold. Fingers crossed on learning its fate before Christmas... ;-)

Looks like that I only had 3 #1 sets this year.

  • I have ten #1 which qualify for award, out of them one shall be (?) gold for third year in the row. From these ten, three are #1 for the first time, whereas I dropped from #1 in one instance.

I have 23 #1 sets but don't care anymore, I've lost all faith in this registry. I use it now for bookkeeping just to keep track of things

I am afraid that this is true... I believe that the whole concept should be redesigned. No offense, but they may not simply add new annual sets just to boost their certification volumes, without improving the content of the older ones. Another example might be if they exclude from the award process sets that have more than 5 or 10 lets say sets ranked as #1. Review the weighting and bonuses, etc.

I agree with @alaura22 on not caring about set rankings in this registry.
    I have about 25-30 sets with a #1 ranking.
I will have about 4-5 sets that will be lowered in rankings as I have no desire to add the missing coins here.
I have put my entire inventory into MYCOLLECT registry sets.

Isn't it mostly for US coins this MYCOLLECT?

They have started doing foreign sets.
If you have a set that is not currently offered, ask them to create it for you.
    They respond. quickly.
Email Todd from the web site.
