Steve...it's only baseball, don't get so cranked over a bad game. I thought Cora (the cheater), was gonna have a stroke when he exploded. What a fool and an embarrassment to the team and baseball. He was pissed because they had a 3-0 lead in the 1st and blew it.
Sometimes you're the bug, sometimes you're the windshield.
Yet another late inning lead gone, and another one run loss, this one in extra innings. Lucky for them the Yankees are slumping along with them...great opportunity to move up, but they can't quite get it done.
With the season half over, things ain't lookin' very good. Cora's (the cheater) two back-to-back little league tantrums didn't instill the team to "cowboy up" and play better, which we all know is exactly what he hoped his antics would achieve. Maybe they won't get broomed out of Anaheim today, that would make for a very, very long flight to BOS.
And the beat goes on for Red Sox Nation. Toronto cometh.
You said it all Al!
The only thing that will help them is a new manager with some big balls.
These kids that are playing for the Red Sox have the software for the job but not the hardware needed to win games.
Unfortunately Cora is not the leader that is needed.
He needs replacing now!

OK, I give up! The Red Sox under Cora and Red Sox management are going nowhere this year.
Yesterday they get a 3 run lead in the 1st inning and then give up 5 runs immediately to one of the worst teams in the League.
This past winter there was good pitching available but they choose to hire only lousy ones to fill the holes.
Now they say they are going all in at the trade deadline!
That is bullshit!
Tommy this is why I take my emotions out of it until if or when they make the playoffs.
It's a long season and they don't give out AL East titles in June but we knew going in that they would potentially be in for a rough one, at least most of us did
Believe me I got a group text chain going with a bunch of friends and it's a complete argument about the Sox, some guys think they literally had a shot at the world series this year while the rest of us just incessantly make fun of that notion lol
Well, the Red Sox just hit the trifecta...the "we got swept in 3 trifecta". Now well under .500, dropping 5 in a row and at 6.5 back. They are not helping their chances to even compete at this stage. If the Yankees wake up, or the Jays go crazy in Fenway, you will hear the fat lady sing pretty soon.
Lotta things I don't understand about the Red Sox team, they seem to have all the pieces and talent, but just can't finish the puzzle and contend. If they don't string together a nice run of wins, I just don't see surviving this season. Of course we still have you know who in the dugout next year and the year after. Kinda like looking forward to Christmas and there's only rain, no tree and your presents have been stolen.
Paul...add me to the group that only sees a dark cloud.
The All Star game is here in Atlanta. I took at look at ticket prices...holy moly, SRO are $330, and the only ones I saw were in the upper, upper, upper level for $500+ each. At least you get a breeze at that altitude.
I don't know how many games they have to lose before they shitcan Cora.
The longer they wait the further they go down.
I guess they have enough seats sold ahead that they don't care.
It's time for the boo birds to arrive, maybe that will wake Henry up.
Nothing will wake up Henry. Fenway is his cash cow and IMO, just viewed as a huge asset that he will occasionally tweak to appease the masses, like Monster seats. There appears to be a mindset within the organization that is somewhat mysterious. Signings that make little sense, and contracts that keep paying players long, long gone a king's ransom. The list is long, just google a bit.
Red Sox fans will continue to fill the seats, they're immune to long term losses, 86 years of drought will do that to you. "Wait till next year" has been the general mantra of the Red Sox Faithful. When 2004 finally ended the disappointment of years gone by, masses of flags were placed on untold number of graves of relatives long gone who endured the suffering. Booing in Fenway is rare and will have zero impact...going to a game at Fenway is a ritual that every kid in New England aspires to experience. The place is almost shrine-like...when you first see that green, green grass and realize who has played there over the years, and the exciting games that have happened there, it makes you kinda suck in that first moment.
So, now 7 games back with the Jays in town. Roman Anthony, touted as the savior, is batting.114.
If they don't turn the ship around post haste, not only will the fat lady sing shortly after the AS game, Dandy Don will sing with her in a duet.
So much talent, so little performance. Kikuchi gets 12 Ks...where are the bats???

Judge is really not prone to injuries (although Stanton definitely is!). He missed a lot of time the year the got hit in the hand with a pitch and another big chunk the year he hurt his foot on the Dodger Stadium concrete wall.

The hit by pitch you can brush off, the wall is all on him. All stadiums have those types of walls with just a little padding other than the Ivy with the Cubs. Hes not Stanton level prone but he is injury prone.
For Stanton age is a factor, but when he decided to become a body builder he started getting hurt constantly
Well, looks like the Red Sox are gonna be 0-6 and fall to 8 GB.
Its now 5-0 in the 8th inning...not looking good.
I'm leaving for a week on the coast and enjoy some seafood and blackjack at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi.
At least the blackjack there offers surrender. Steve...I do find it interesting when I surrender and draw that little line and sometimes people wonder what I just did, and this on $25 and $50 tables. When I played at your Route 66 for a couple of hours, the pit was engaging in a nice conversation with a "regular". He had no idea what surrender was, amazing!
So, hopefully the team comes out of the funk and straightens out, if they sink much further, the hole will only get deeper and deeper. One day the bulb may come on at Yawkey Way and they dump Cora. Gotta be a reason why his jersey # is 13.
The latest word salad from Cora (the cheater) about last night's BLOWOUT by the Jays.
“Execute your game plan,” answered Cora. “You’re gonna have conviction. You have to trust the information that is provided and go from there. Also, you have to be prepared. Every hitter has a plan. We have a group approach, but at the same time, it’s one one-on-one at the end, and you have to make adjustments. You have to compete. That’s the most important thing. And I don’t think there’s a competition. I think they’re trying as hard as possible.”
You would not recognize the pit at the casino now. It is much smaller. I was in there the other day to see my son (who is the maintenance supervisor) It is only about a quarter of the size it was and I only knew 2 of the people there. Times have sure changed sine I retired 15 years ago.
I will watch tonights game as Crochet is pitching. He is about the only real pitcher they have right now.
I liked what I saw tonight. Crochet didn't have his real good stuff tonight but he got them into the 7th inning with the lead.
New pitcher Hicks from the Devers trade came in with his 100MPH fastball and took over.
Wilyer Abreu hit one of the longest home runs that barely missed home run status and took a crazy bounce . He rounded the bases for a home run then his next at bat hit a grand slam. Roger Marris was the last one to do that in 1964.
By the way Devers struck out 3 times tonight and is not doing well in San Francisco.
That trade is looking pretty good right now!
I don't recall very much about my visit to Route 66 casino. I do remember that Meatloaf was appearing there that night. Other than the pic I posted with my win, I was only there maybe an hour.
Chaco Canyon is my most vivid memory of my New Mexico trip. Even while walking through the ruins, you gotta wonder how in the world did they survive and do what they did with so very little. Those Ancient Puebloans were some tough cookies!!!
It is amazing those properties are still there at all. You would have loved the balloon festival in October with hundreds of balloons flying at once, Maybe you could get out this way again and we could have that steak you talked about.
The Red Sox have a good young core that will put together a team if they had a smart coach to lead them. I love what Bregman is doing with these young kids! They need to extend him but probably will trade him instead.
I cant believe Cora is sending Buehler out to pitch today. He must want to see them lose another gsme in the first inning. that guy count find the plate if it was 3 foot wide. He will probably put Hamilton at 2nd base too. Did you see how pissed the Giolitto was when he booted another ball in the 7th inning today as he was pitching another gem? The Red Sox have the makings of a good young team but they are going to lose Bregman which will be a disaster as he is working with these young studs just because they haven't paid him what he is worth. He should be made a player coach and fire Cora !
The RedSox are showing some progress lately and if they can pick up a couple of more players to fill critical spots they could still be in the race this year yet. The yankees are doing the opposite but the Blue Jays are the team they all need to beat out.
If you have NETFLIX...go to the documentary section and you'll find quite a story about the 2003 and 2004 comeback season of the Red Sox. Lots and lots of behind the scenes interviews. Trading Nomar, firing Grady Little, Varitek and ARod fight, lots of baseball action and of course the 8 game streak. You can get NETFLIX just to watch this, then cancel. I think it's $24 +/- per month, but may get a credit when you cancel early. Get your big bag of popcorn for this one!!
Looks like I hit a nerve...you are the one who agreed to all those channels, at least with Netflix you can cancel anytime. Won't make anymore suggestions, it was simply something I thought you'd enjoy.
I know of Netflix but have too many channels to watch and if I subscribe to all of them I would go broke. The baseball package gives me all I need but what I dont like is the 200 worthless channels that you have to accept with Direct tv. There has to be some way of getting all the Red Sox broadcasts without getting that package. I pay over $240 a month for it.
Geez...stop whining about all your friggin channels already.
Get a clue, I was trying to do something nice, but you obviously want to bitch about all the misery you have with the choices YOU made.
I assure you, I'll never recommend anything to you again. Take a deep breath and enjoy more than just baseball.
I'm sorry you feel that way! I'm just asking if there is a way to get the Red Sox without going through the MLB package with direct tv. I would like to get rid of direct tv as there is more junk on there that I don't like and it has become super expensive over the past couple of years, I am on a limited budget and $242 a month is just too expensive for me.

Ok, here's what you gotta do...I used to have Directv...I now have Directvstreaming. I have no dish, no box, nada. I use ROKU streaming. I use an internet connection via wifi to connect with ROKU. If your tv isn't already "ROKU ready", you have to have a ROKU stick plugged into one of the HDMI ports on the back of your tv. It's a small thing, maybe twice the size of a stick of gum. You then have to set up your ROKU account. Google ROKU to see the ROKU stick devise and the remote. It takes a small bit of a learning curve, but you'll be a pro in now time.
I pay $112 per month for DirectvStreaming...NOT Directv. The remote is also small and easy to start up your tv. You will then have small squares to select your tv programming, like Directv channels, Prime (if you have an account), Pandora to listen to music and ROKU tv. ROKU tv has a NESN360 app which will cost you $30 per month...this gives you Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, everything related to New England Sports.
So, now that you have no clue what I wrote above, just get your son to decipher it for you, OR, call Best Buy and have somebody explain ROKU to you. They have a Geek Squad that will come to your home and set it all up. Of course there's a service charge, but it beats the hell out of what you're paying now. ROKU is Japanese for the number 6...don't ask, I have no clue, something about it being the 6th store the originator opened.
Red Sox on a very impressive roll winning 9 in a row. With a win streak of 9-1 in their last 10, its just keeping pace with Toronto who's at 8-2 for their last 10.
With the return of Masa and soon Bregman, and a nice All Star break around the corner, the Sox could be aligning the stars for a decent shot at Post season play. Looks like my prediction could be wrong, but time will tell.
Check out the Red Sox schedule for the next 3 series. July 18 at Cubs 3 gm series. Cubs leading NL Central 57 & 39. July 21 at Phillies 3 gm series. Phillies lead NL East 55 & 41. July 25 Dodgers 3 gm series. Dodgers lead NL West 58 & 39. Last of road trip July 28 at Twins.
I have been looking forward to the next 3 series. The Red Sox have some tough teams to beat and they need to come out of the all star break on fire if they want to make some headway here. At least they will have there top three pitchers ready to go. We will soon see if the are as strong as the last 3 series was.
