The CU 2025 June Pickups Thread

Starting this month off with a…alright, I’ll be honest. It’s another one of my weird ones and I don’t exactly know if it has a name already. So offer me a little leeway. It’s sort of a postcard. It’s sort of a booklet. And it’s sort of an envelope. But PSA has a similar item it graded so I’ll borrow from that:
c1960’s SW Historical Wax Museum Foldout Postcard w/Mickey Mantle
So, let’s see your pickups, both mainstream and odd, strange, unique and fun.

Too shiny to resist........
They called him ''The Rocket'' Rod Laver - Holds the record for the most singles titles in history(200). The only player in history to win two calendar year Grand Slams(winning all four majors in the same year-Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, U.S. Open) And the last man to accomplish this rare feat. This ticket is his 1st Wimbledon title(He won four).. The only one graded by PSA.

For the NFL HOF Set....

Moses I bought raw for $35 and submitted. Very happy with the results…was hoping for an 8 but expecting a 6-7. The centering on the Banks sold me.

FedEx delivered these today which was maybe my favorite delivery ever. Memory Lane wins. Been targeting a 33 Goudey Foxx for maybe a couple of years and felt this worked for me. Nice to close that chapter and finally have one. Definitely appreciate his career accomplishments and think the 33 Goudey is reasonably priced based on what he has done and that is a 90-year-old card.
Also feel the Carew PSA 8 RC is a nice value given what he contributed to the sport.
Ulysses…
Great pickups…loving the ‘33 Goudey!
Nice one for the auto set:

Beautiful Kaline!

Making progress on my '33 Goudey Cubs set. Ebay pickup.
Like the ‘33 Goudey!
I've been wanting a 93 Finest Refractor for the better part of 30 years, and finally pulled the trigger. Not as big a name as I would have preferred, but a HOFer none the less.

Main collecting focus is Patrick Roy playing days 85/86-02/03, expect 1/1, National/All-Star stamped cards.PC Completion: 2,702/2,986; 90.49% My Patrick Roy PC Website:https://proy33collector.weebly.com
Added this to my small collection

A few more for the HOF set.....

edgar martinez is awesome..... Big name yes he is
From a short lived eponymous franchise restaurant chain where the food and ambiance were apparently very good and the management was apparently very not, this is one of the two postcards that could be acquired only while dining there. Many are signed as Mickey would make frequent appearances to help drum up more business. This is just the ninth example graded and there’s just one that graded out higher than this one:

Graded Wednesday. Took about a month. Not bad.
Sweet Morgan!
Thanks...Morgan was an eBay pickup a few months ago, Piccolo was from my LCS.
Just got some news from SGC on a sub. I was surprised on the Reggie getting that high because I think the OPCs are graded pretty harshly (the others I sent all got 4s and some of those I thought to be nicer). Still can't resist a nice looking team card!
This is either a luggage or locker tag when on the road? Attributed to Frank Mancuso who played for a few with the Browns during WW2. Have no paperwork - so it's just a tag IMO. I really like this kind of stuff. 👍
He did have jersey #8; for those who may not remember, the Browns became the Orioles in 1954.
3 upgrades for the 58 set:

I just picked up a really nice 1979 OPC baseball set. The cards are mainly pack fresh. Here is a good smattering of the HOFers (plus Munson). The set also contains many of the obligatory miscut and rough cut cards - part of the deal when you collect OPC.
@BaltimoreYankee That's a great 1979 OPC set you acquired. The centering on your Smith is one of the best that I have seen. That card is notoriously off-centered. Also the rough cuts on the Ryan, Bench, and Jackson are awesome. Great pickup.
