And another "eBay Don't Care" new "Morgan" Morgan fake PCGS...

Brisk bidding, I notified the seller but I guess he just didn't believe me.
He actually added better images:
Cert has TruView images:
So I reported it twice and was dismissed by the Bay both times. Once by the (secret) customer service agent, once by the BayBots:
I'm in the running for it; let the games begin...
Best, Jack.

If a bidder wins a coin like this, then files a snad, do they just end up with a free counterfeit?

It isn't even a very good counterfeit.
I reported and included a portion of the illustrative photo from this thread. We'll see what happens. This is a cancer for the hobby.
Ditto, except I focused on the lack of NFC symbol and PCGS logo on the plastic holder.
AI determined the listing was A-OK.
EBay's AI is metally retarded. In PC terms it's metally challenged. In reality, it's ethically challenged.
I contacted the seller:
"It is a fake, take it down. You are a fraud"
"This is the condition that I bought it and I have not tampered with it!"
"You are selling a counterfeit coin in a counterfeit holder.

PCGS never has 4 prongs that hold the coin, only 3(1st pic).
The holder should have small logos at the bottom left & right(1st pic).
Everything about that item is a fraud and you know it. Take it down.
Look at the real coin that you're trying to sell(2nd pic). The fake that you have for sale doesn't even come close. Do the right thing."

Then he added this to his listing 5 minutes later!! ⇊

I tried. He's passing his mistake on to someone else imo.
…
Sorry, but that’s a very poor way to start off with someone you don’t know. Regardless of whether the seller already knew he was selling a counterfeit, that’s not how to get a stranger to listen to what you have to say.
Mark Feld* of Heritage Auctions*Unless otherwise noted, my posts here represent my personal opinions.
Agree, next time it'll be different at the beginning.
If he does not take the listing down after seeing my info, and the sale goes through, I would have no problem accusing him of being a fraud, again.
I ain’t sharp. I can’t buy scarcer coins in PCGS holders. I hope that the fear does not spread.
This is madness- bid over $1600...
If the buyer pays with a credit card and then does a chargeback after discovering it's a counterfeit, does eBay have to pay for the chargeback assuming the seller is long gone?
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

For all we know it was never a mistake to begin with and the seller knew all along.
Now look, $3264
Ends this morning 6:55 am MT.
Unreal as the coin & holder itself.

Ends in 5h 10m
I think my message to the seller might do the trick, I guess we’ll see.

“eBay don’t care”, certainly, but myself and the rest of the forum is glad that you do, @burfle23, thanks again for keeping us posted on your findings!
@burfle23 ... completely agree with Greg. I've been in the hobby for a while and can usually sense when something feels "off"... that internal alarm that says, don’t buy this. But newer collectors don’t yet have that experience to rely on. To help bridge that gap, we’ve traditionally recommended they stick to coins certified by trusted third-party grading (TPG) services. I’ve made that recommendation countless times, and I follow it myself for issues that I'm less familiar with... like gold!
Now, with counterfeit coins appearing in fake TPG holders (especially on platforms like eBay) that guidance is being undermined. It directly compromises the one piece of advice meant to protect newcomers.
At this point, I’m genuinely unsure how to advise new numismatists who are just trying to learn the ropes... without paying thousands in “tuition” through costly mistakes.
