I'm a bit late to the reveal but it graded AU55. Now what's interesting is that this was purchased originally in an AU Details - Cleaned holder, and me and a couple others thought that grade was very silly. I bought the coin, cracked it out, gave it an acetone bath, and resubmitted it and it came back 55. Not a bad win and for now she resides in my collection!

I think the rim issues are what got you 55, the field friction seems to be on the low side but in 58 grade range.

It's possible it might have been the culprit, but the funny thing is is that this is perfectly normal with these CBHs especially the earlier dates where the lettered edge bar dies were slightly askew and led to the letters getting punched weirdly. So it's not really a rim issue as opposed to just the mint's doing. @jacrispies am i missing anything?

David is correct, the rim issues are not issues, but rather the edge lettering spilling over the edge. The coin is very lustrous in hand, but has the ideal amount of rub for a choice AU-55.

The luster breaks make me think AU 55 is reasonable. Rim imperfections may not be a factor in grading: I have an 1855 Large Cent in a MS 65 RB holder with one of them.

Great buy in the original Details holder.
