@galaxy27, sorry to have offended your sensibilities because I thought your "prognostication" was funny after it didn't quite pan out. Your response makes me think of one word -- snowflake.
And if "asshat" is the best you can do maybe you should just stay home. Have a nice day.

That type of effort on defense is what won them a championship last season, hopefully someone remembers to pack it for their trip to NY on friday night.

I do not think so.
Minnesota was too overpowering on both sides of the ball.
Imo, the Wolves probably would have still won but it may have taken the full 7 games to get there. GS would have just needed to keep the games close heading into crunchtime and see if Steph's shooting could take them over the top in those situations.

I'm betting that the new Celtics owner is probably having buyer's remorse right now after dropping a record amount to buy the team and not only was there no repeat trip to the Finals, their two best players land injuries that will affect next season.
Does the NBA have an Item Not As Described returns button like on Ebay?

It is interesting that the last time an NBA Champion played in the Finals the following season was 2018-2019 when the Warriors (who won the title in 2018) played Toronto in the 2019 Finals and lost.
Toronto won in 2019 and did not make the 2020 Finals.
The Los Angeles Lakers won in 2020 and did not make the 2021 Finals.
Milwaukee won in 2021 and did not make the 2022 Finals.
Golden State won in 2022 and did not make the 2023 Finals
Denver won in 2023 and did not make the 2024 Finals.
Boston won in 2024 and did not make the 2025 Finals.
From the 1982 Finals through the 2019 Finals (38 titles) the winner of each title returned to the Finals the follow year a total of 19 times (1983, 1985, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1992, 1993, 1995, 1997, 1998, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2018, 2019).
All six teams lost in the second round in that following year after winning the Finals.
They're the two deepest teams in these playoffs and Indy's offense vs OKC's defense would make for a pretty entertaining matchup, that's if they get there though.
The game was very close in the 4th quarter and all of a sudden the Knicks, without Brunson the floor went on a run to build a 14 point lead on the Pacers with less than 3 minutes to go. All things pointed to the Knicks running out the clock and cruising to a win.
However, things changed and the Pacers caught fire hitting multiple 3 point shots to come roaring back to make it a nail biter. The Knicks failed to stop the Pacers' run. If Haliburton's show was about 1 inch shorter his game tying 2 point shot would have instead been a game winning three point shot in regulation (fully warranting his mimic of Reggie Miller's choke message to Spike Lee of about 30 years ago).
I hope that the ECF goes the full 7 games with each game being as volatile and unpredictable as Game 1 was.
As far as the WCF goes, it will be interesting to see how Minnesota plays tonight in Game 2. Will the Timberwolves come "Thundering" back at OKC to take away homecourt advantage, or will the Timberwolves run and hide in their den to get away from the "Thunderous" onslaught that SGA and company bring?
"In a wild end to regulation play in last night’s NBA Eastern Conference Finals, Tyrese Haliburton hit a long jumper that he thought had won the game and he paid tribute to Reggie Miller by imitating the choke sign Reggie dropped on Spike Lee and Knicks fans in 1994. But it turned out his toe was on the 3-pt line, so the shot only tied the game and sent it into overtime rendering his choke sign premature."
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
Dan Patrick: “Keep in mind when Reggie (Miller) hit his shots, and that was 1994, did the choke sign to Spike Lee; Pacers lost that series. It would have been really embarrassing if you do a choke sign and you tie the game, you go into overtime, and then you don’t win…But, you know the Knicks; they were up by 17. They choked. They did.”

I just looked at the team stats from last night's game.
Minnesota shot 62.8% from the field (49/78) and 41.9% from three (13/31).
GSW shot 43.3% from the field (39/90) and 28.2% from three (11/39).
Poor shooting by GSW and great shooting by Minnesota was all she wrote. Edwards and Randle were unstoppable.
The only reason the final score was 121-110 (11 point win) is because GSW made 21 free throws while Minnesota made only 10 free throws.
Well Denver strikes again to tie it 3-3. Now what will Boston do tonight...................

They might as well start planning for a tank season now and not rush either of the Jay’s back from their injuries.

Not looking good so far - down by 20

The OKC swarming defense gave Minnesota big trouble. It will be interesting to see how Game 2 plays out.
Looking forward to Game 1 of Knicks v. Pacers.
the Thunder out-depth the Wolves. sure, Minny can come out blazing, but eventually OKC will wear them down and wear them out
