ALASKA TUG PULLS INTO DOCK AND BUSH AIRPLANE FLIES OVER FOLLOWED BY A PANORAMIC VIEW OF Cook Inlet
After watching a Cook Inlet tugboat dock an Alaska Bush Plane is heard and then seen overhead.
The camera then pans across Cook Inlet past Mount Susitna and on to Point Worzonof with a cloud hidden Mount Spurr Volcano under eruption watch located between.
(Alaska Range including Mount Spurr Volcano on the horizon)
I never knew a Magpie could look so regal. The one pictured from today is a Black-Billed Magpie or sometimes known as the American Magpie.
Apparently they are among the most intelligent of animals capable of even making tools.
From all knowing Wikipedia:
"Magpies have shown the ability to make and use tools, imitate human speech, grieve, play games, and work in teams.[4] They are particularly well known for their songs and were once popular as cagebirds."
(The first from April 8, the second from yesterday - both with Volcano Mount Spurr as a backdrop.)
My screenshot photo from last month when Mount Spurr Volcano was most active with a visible plume coming out of its Crater Peak. The distance from where I took the photo in Anchorage and the Volcano is approximately 80 miles.
IN THE LINKED VIDEO BELOW, An Air Force Fighter Jet descends over Volcano Mount Spurr and the Alaska Range fronted by the waters of Anchorage Alaska’s Cook Inlet.
Then majestic Mt Susitna comes into view followed by a moored Cook Inlet Tug Boat which is followed by a landing USAF transport plane and a click clacking Alaska Railroad Train and locomotive.
The view then returns to Mount Susitna and Mt Spurr Volcano as it continues under an eruption alert issued by the Alaska Volcano Observatory at Code Yellow.
This week is National Police Week and May 15th was Peace Officers Memorial Day.
In Honor of the Law Enforcement Officers who died in the line of duty, flags at State Buildings in Alaska were lowered to half-mast under the direction of our Governor to pay tribute to the 72 who have given their lives in Alaska. Nationally there are 24,000 honored on "the wall" in Washington, D.C.
The most recent law officer fatality in Alaska was at the end of December of 2022 when an officer in Nome was killed by a Musk Ox while trying to protect a kennel of sled dogs from a group of Musk Ox.
Linked here is a video of Anchorage Police Officers risking their lives to protect the citizens:
First there was screaming and yelling. Then multiple police vehicles arrived to secure the area, This was followed by a suspect raising his hands as police approached to cuff him and place him in one of the police vehicles.
As seen in this video all of the doors of the suspect’s vehicle were left flung open after a search had been completed.
The video also captures the flashing lights of the police vehicles remaining ablaze.

Alaska Railroad TRAIN LED BY "STEAMING" LOCOMOTIVE PULLING PASSENGER CARS PASSES BY MOORED TUGBOATS, SNOW CAPPED MOUNT SUSITNA, AND YET TO ERUPT MT SPURR
With summer now here the Alaska Railroad passenger trains become more frequent as evidenced by this southbound locomotive hauling passengers departing Anchorage.
As it “steams” forward it passes by Cook Inlet Tugboats, scenic Mt Susitna, and a mystic Alaska Range with its continued on eruption alert Mt Spurr volcano,
And if you have made it this far, here is a link to a longer video that includes added scenic views across Cook Inlet along with a revealing look at just how unusual and diverse are the things carried on an Alaska Railroad Freight Train:
Everything and anything gets hauled on an Alaska Railroad Freight Train.
Prepare to be surprised to see just how unique and varied are the items being hauled northward.
The longer you watch the more surprising they become.
Watching this video also offers scenic views of Alaska Scenery along and across Cook Inlet with its moored tugboats, snow capped Mt Susitna and the Alaska Range capped with mystic clouds.
Among the mountains seen in the Alaska range is the 80 mile distant Mt Spurr Volcano that remains at Code Yellow Eruption Alert by the Alaska Volcano Observatory.

To get that high up the ramp the truck must have been going EXTREMELY fast.

Nice. Three GSX together. That is rare.
I drove this the other day (1968 Buick GS-Colorado - photo of older magazine article about it):
