I placed the first of no doubt many likes onto this post!
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
The height of artistry on US coins! Post the gold too!
Just a few of my favorites!
My first complete set was a 20th Century business-strike type set. The period takes us all the way from the best designs the US ever produced to modern politician clad junk. It’s a fascinating progression, and contains the Indian cent, Buff nickel, Merc dime, SLQ, Walkers and the penultimate Peace dollar - ALL personal favorites for their respective denominations.
This is after a bunch of upgrades, in its final form before dispersal:
This is probably my favorite 20th century coin. Something about a well preserved XF Morgan that's hard to beat. Did its job in commerce and experienced a bit of the old west history. Believe this is how a circulated, probably original/undipped, coin over 100 years should look.
All beautiful coins, and the designs were just so spectacular. The 20th century really was America's century in so many ways.
@BryceM A truly beautiful assemblage and I am honored that I grabbed one of the best from that set! She still stuns me with her luster, strike, color, etc.

Just to be that annoying guy...
The first coin shown in the OP is not a 20th century coin.
Collector of Liberty Seated Half Dimes, including die pairs and die states
The only classic commemorative issue I own. At least I have both dates and mints:
Maybe the best 20th century design. It's overshadowed by St Gaudens but it's a superior designed coin, with much more balance.

Since most of my better coins are earlier 19th Century ... do these count?

Two more BLAST YELLOW stickers, please.
Ba Boom! Oh the coins are getting serious now!
@pursuitofliberty Yes, the 1914 FRN's are most welcome, and they just capture the era so perfectly.
PS @PeakRarities I see a moose. And it's damn fine.

Don’t shoot the messenger since these happen to be paper currency.

So many great coins and bills, love them all. But one of my favorite from an artistic standpoint and being my home state is the Texas commemorative set of 13. Here's one, the 1938-S. It was tough to find the whole set in 67 with CAC stickers.
