1976 Topps Dennis Eckersley rookie PSA 9

This card was recently graded by PSA. Does centering like this usually receive a 9? I'm asking because I have ample cards from the late 70's that I won't submit that have centering like this with 4 sharp corners and no print defects.

I think that centering would fall into the range of PSA 9.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

The registration more than makes up for the centering.

I think it looks like a 9 that should not have been considered a candidate for a 10 but on a strict day could have been an 8.

On yours, I'd say it depends on which players are on the card. Commons may not be worth the time. Especially cause you dont know if you are getting reviewed on strict day or fair day. Stars that look like that, I'd send em in.

For comparison, a raw example for which I would not expect a 9. Too much stray print, but sharp and centered.

agreed...with edge chipping, registration, print defects, etc -- that one probably would get a 6?

@Kepper19 It's in my raw set. It gets a nothing. ;)

i think the holder kind of distorts the real centering. in an sgc holder, it would look much nicer.im not saying this because i necessarily favor sgc, but the holder really pops the centering, especially the black holder against the white border.

Work hard and you will succeed!!

Very sharp and clean but the L/R centering and two small (but noticeable imo) fisheyes within the left pink border would relegate this card to a PSA 8 estimation if I were subbing it.
