OT: Music thread -- post a song you like

Albums like that are remarkable, it is close to 60 years after release and it still sells. Not only that, some people are only now hearing it for the first time and being as amazed as we were as teenagers at first release.

@perkdog, the spelling of the names should have been a clue. A woman's name would be spelled with an "A" not an "E" and no self-respecting man would call himself anything with an "ie" at the end.

Well I was like 12 years old if I remember correctly so I was clueless anyways 😂😂😂

Hello @stevek, where have you been, listening to all those old Led Zeppelin albums?? Gotta step outa that safety zone, man!!

Just watched a YouTube video of the Allman Brothers "Whipping Post" from the Fillmore East concert in 1970. What a response that band was to the British Invasion. I missed them back then but caught up to them around 2005 at Blossom Music Center nestled in the farm fields between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio.

It was a Saturday show and I let a friend of mine take care of the tickets, last time I ever did that!!! He calls me up around 10 till 5 to make arrangements to pick me up for the show. I asked him when it started and he said in disbelief "Tickets say 5 o'clock!!" I told him that must be when the doors open so he called the ticket service and then me, said "No, the show starts at 5!!" and the venue was 45 minutes away.

Believe it or not we were in our 8th row seats shortly after 5:30 and only missed the opening 1-2 songs!!

Best thing about the Allman's was the twin drummers. I remember seeing the Doobie Brothers in the mid-1980's and it was the same thing two drummers. I think I watched them for the entire show, it was mesmerizing the way they kept the beat and switched back and forth.

Terry Kath, most people who are overwhelmed with Hendrix, Page, Clapton and Beck don't even know the name.

Hendrix also said something similar about Phil Keaggy and it's a good bet many people have never heard of him, either.

Hmm, this one is nothing short of a well orchestrated musical masterpiece. I love the video, the studio atmosphere, watching them just lose themselves in the music. The song is about dealing with the complexity of fame.

Back in the mid-80's a friend of mine, who was a competent guitarist, bought this little amp/speaker combo that was a little smaller then a Pignose Amp. It was marketed by Tom Scholz and called a Rockman. My friend Gary had me over one afternoon, and said "Watch this!!" As he was playing he hit some buttons and instantly had the Tom Scholz guitar sound that was so distinctive.

Boston was a great innovator in the midst of the "Disco" revolution. Too bad it took them like 10-15 years to put out album number 2!!

I think the above was the first mention of Guns N' Roses. Axl Rose, in my opinion, has the greatest voice in rock history. His range on Mr Brownstone truly was amazing. Many other great songs as well.

I guess there may still be the debate 100 years from now, who was the better singer, Bon or Brian?

To me, they are both great. I do like more the way Bon sang "Highway to Hell", but of course it was his lyrics. Most of the rest, it's on basically an equal level.

One of the most unique voices in rock history, great band as well, I never get sick of this song.
