Albums like that are remarkable, it is close to 60 years after release and it still sells. Not only that, some people are only now hearing it for the first time and being as amazed as we were as teenagers at first release.

One WOW moment when I was a kid is when I found out Lindsey Buckingham was a guy and Stevie Nicks was a woman, I remember being like "That's just ridiculous" lol
@perkdog, the spelling of the names should have been a clue. A woman's name would be spelled with an "A" not an "E" and no self-respecting man would call himself anything with an "ie" at the end.

Well I was like 12 years old if I remember correctly so I was clueless anyways 😂😂😂

We've all been clueless at some point. The group of us in college in the early 90's used to think it was an old woman saying "What we have here is failure to communicate" at the beginning of Civil War by Guns n' Roses

Hello @stevek, where have you been, listening to all those old Led Zeppelin albums?? Gotta step outa that safety zone, man!!
Did Robert Plant not give you his autograph one time when you bothered him while he was eating dinner at some restaurant? You seem obsessed with snarky remarks about Led Zeppelin.
Just watched a YouTube video of the Allman Brothers "Whipping Post" from the Fillmore East concert in 1970. What a response that band was to the British Invasion. I missed them back then but caught up to them around 2005 at Blossom Music Center nestled in the farm fields between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio.
It was a Saturday show and I let a friend of mine take care of the tickets, last time I ever did that!!! He calls me up around 10 till 5 to make arrangements to pick me up for the show. I asked him when it started and he said in disbelief "Tickets say 5 o'clock!!" I told him that must be when the doors open so he called the ticket service and then me, said "No, the show starts at 5!!" and the venue was 45 minutes away.
Believe it or not we were in our 8th row seats shortly after 5:30 and only missed the opening 1-2 songs!!
Best thing about the Allman's was the twin drummers. I remember seeing the Doobie Brothers in the mid-1980's and it was the same thing two drummers. I think I watched them for the entire show, it was mesmerizing the way they kept the beat and switched back and forth.
"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety," --- Benjamin Franklin
I was fortunate to see Chicago 4 times in the 70's before TK,'s untimely death. He provided the edge to the group. After he left they became more MOR (middle of the road). Danny Seraphine was no slouch on the drums either.
In a 1969 meeting after a Chicago concert Hendrix stated that Kath was the best guitarist in the universe.
Successful transactions:Tookybandit. "Everyone is equal, some are more equal than others".
It amazes me how much this song by Crowded House from the 1980s has touched people, 306 million views and 53,000 comments on YouTube, indeed one of the most beautiful songs ever written and performed.
Hmm, this one is nothing short of a well orchestrated musical masterpiece. I love the video, the studio atmosphere, watching them just lose themselves in the music. The song is about dealing with the complexity of fame.
Wish I had a dollar for everytime I've listened to this song, it still gives me chills when Brad Delp hits those high notes at the end, the guy could flat-out sing.
Back in the mid-80's a friend of mine, who was a competent guitarist, bought this little amp/speaker combo that was a little smaller then a Pignose Amp. It was marketed by Tom Scholz and called a Rockman. My friend Gary had me over one afternoon, and said "Watch this!!" As he was playing he hit some buttons and instantly had the Tom Scholz guitar sound that was so distinctive.
Boston was a great innovator in the midst of the "Disco" revolution. Too bad it took them like 10-15 years to put out album number 2!!
"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety," --- Benjamin Franklin
I think the above was the first mention of Guns N' Roses. Axl Rose, in my opinion, has the greatest voice in rock history. His range on Mr Brownstone truly was amazing. Many other great songs as well.
I guess there may still be the debate 100 years from now, who was the better singer, Bon or Brian?
To me, they are both great. I do like more the way Bon sang "Highway to Hell", but of course it was his lyrics. Most of the rest, it's on basically an equal level.

Coming home from high school in the 90s with my girl, this song blasting on the radio. Absolute masterpiece, starts off easy tempo, then just explodes and does not let up until it's over.
First bought this album when I was about 13 years old, at a record store in Paris France in 1992, my grandparents took me there for summer vacation. This is my favorite song from that album, 1.4 billion views on YouTube, 175,000 comments, this song has left one hell of an impact on people over the years.
Anyone know why I can't post a music video? It says it will post after it is approved?? Then never gets posted?? Any clues here? I have never posted anything inappropriate.

Ok, I've had enough of this. I tried to get back in here and start posting again, I was trying to put differences aside, not be so hotheaded anymore, but I can see that it just isn't going to work. Great thread @galaxy27, it was fun while it lasted. Take care.

Not sure. Could be a link that the CU forum software picked up as copyright infringement or something? There may be a general "spam filter" on here, and the software is seeing it as that and blocking it. I doubt if it has anything to do with your account.
Was the song from Youtube? I've never seen Youtube links blocked anywhere, except on forums that won't allow any links at all.
If ya want, post the song title on here, and we'll post it for you.

Whatever, I didn't even say anything to anybody, I was trying to post music videos and Steven and you started running your mouths about me. I'm not sweating it, long after we're gone people can go back through the archives and see some of the wildest, most dramatic, and funniest $hit ever posted on the forum from me. I like to have fun, and I know how to entertain and create buzz. I brought it all, comedy, drama, you name it, I set the bar pretty damn high. I'm one of, if not the most, controversial figure to ever step foot in this joint, and I left my mark.

Riders On The Storm by The Doors. My LP with Riders has the inner sleeve, yellow, with the cross/ crucification representation.

Has there ever been any major college band that has never played "Tusk" at one of their football halftime shows?
I doubt it.

or 25 or 6 to 4...
Terry Kath, most people who are overwhelmed with Hendrix, Page, Clapton and Beck don't even know the name.

Hendrix also said something similar about Phil Keaggy and it's a good bet many people have never heard of him, either.

One more from Boston, I always crank this one full blast, the riffs in this song are sick.
One of my all time favorite songs.
