Ovechkin now sits at 885 goals.

Needs 9 to tie Gretzky and 10 to pass him. Needs 15 goals to be the 1st ever to reach 900 NHL goals.

I checked out a list and it looks like Ovechkin may be able to have the best goal scoring season by an age 39 player. Looks like Howe scored 39 goals at age 39. Ovechkin has 32 currently for 2nd best at age 39. at his pace, it looks like he may become the first 39 year old to score 40

He has 20 games left he will break 40 goals and break the record as well is my guess. 900 goals may have to wait till next season.

I doubt he will have 6 goals in the last 10 games could happen but I think we will not see the record broken till next season.

don't underestimate Ovi's ability to hop over the boards to hunt empty netters in closing time to pad his goal count (22.2% of his goals are empty netters this season).

Alex turned down a chance to break the record by scoring into an empty net. He asked to not be put in to avoid having the record broken in that fashion. Also cost him a shot at a hat trick.

My best Ovechkin card. I bought a bunch of his rookie auto cards before he led the Caps to a Cup because the gap in price for rookie cards between him and Crosby never made a lot of sense to me.
