Which 1873 quarter do you prefer?

CrepidoderaCrepidodera Posts: 457 ✭✭✭✭✭

I have a good problem. Which of these 1873 NA open 3 quarters should I keep for my set. Or should I keep them both?
Thank you for your opinion!

Based off those photos the 15 has more eye appeal to my taste.

I’d take the 15 based upon the photos.

The F15 has more eye appeal and I’d be surprised if someone picked the latter one.

If I remember right this is the expensive version. That means tying up quite a bit of money if you decide to keep both. On the other hand perhaps you could look at it from the investment perspective.
From my perspective as a collector, i would say keep which ever one you feel has the nicest surfaces in hand. My eyes are not what they use to be so i can't tell how clean the fields are between the two but at this grade level that is what I emphasize most after details required. James

The 20 is a bit dark but I like it. Closed 3 is the expensive version.

The 15 has a more honest look to it.

The F15 looks a little bit nicer but the VF20 is also attractive and strong for the grade.

I want to thank everyone for their preference, strongly in favor of the F15 example. I think I'll keep both of them.

Both are nice, but I’d lean toward the VF20.
