This guy is ridiculous! Please don’t question other people’s integrity without facts!

I listed an item on buy and sell forum
link:
and received the following messages from a member:
You want $300 PayPal FF for those Walkers. If you would have paid $450 PayPal FF for my Franklin set you would own it instead of the dealer who paid me $450. You don’t trust me so you want to pay good and services but expect to be trusted with fee free. I’ll give you $200 for your 22 impaired walkers PayPal goods and services delivered.
My reply:
It has nothing to do with trust or not, If you don’t like my price, you’re free to pass. No need for the unnecessary attitude.
his reply:
Trust is everything here. Half dollars melt today at $12.3519 that rounds down to $12.35 but you round up to $12.36 a very minor issue that speaks volumes to me. Good luck selling your set.
my final reply:
Your unnecessary comments speaks volumes to me!!!
I checked the price this morning and round down it to $12.36
Your should spend more time mind your own business.

Calculate 90% silver value :
(34.15 × .0321507466 × 12.5 × .90) = $12.3519149593
$12.3519 is the rounded silver value for the 1916-1947 silver Walking Liberty half dollar on March 28, 2025. This is usually the value used by coin dealers when selling these coins at melt value. However, the total melt value is continued below.
Calculate 10% copper value :
(4.4271 × .00220462262 × 12.5 × .10) = $0.0121998
Add the two together :
$12.3519149593 + $0.0121998 = $12.3641147593
Do not question other people’s integrity without the facts!!!

stuff like this cracks me up obviously silver price changes constantly throughout the day
this happens to me all the time . I put out some silver from time to time at an antique store I rent space at . I price the stuff the day I bring it in. Say its 32 bucks an ounce on monday , some guys will come and look at it and not buy then silver comes down a buck they come in on wednesday and expect some little pixie to have flown into the display case and lowered all the prices. They will make a special trip thinking they are going to save 5 or 10 dollars after already passing on it on an earlier trip.
Or if silver goes up be mad because they come back to get it at a current discount and its gone someone else bought it.
That the round trip gas in their car for 2 trips to the store has a melt value doesn't seem to register for them , not to mention their time apparently has no value to them either .
But rounding up or down a penny?
Classic
What's the point of this? You trying to make someone look bad?
You wanted to pay regular paypal but want to be paid Friend and Family... Guy took umbrage and you wanted to put him on blast?
You guys are arguing about a few tenths of a cent? lol.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
Recently a (forum member) messaged me recently as well asking for better prices on some things I have on ebay. Here's the message:
Best price we can get done on the 96-o and 11d?
What else you have.to list?
13
01-o
97-o
Lmk
So I took the time to look at what I had and messaged back with an answer to his questions in actual English. He doesn't even have a shred of common courtesy to reply. He knows who he is I won't call him out by name.
Also, I think it’s pretty uncommon to include the copper melt value when pricing junk silver, especially since (as you showed in your analysis) the difference comes out to about a cent.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
There are all sorts of cases out there and while it is hard (been there), you are best off just moving along. Ignore the messages and block if necessary (to avoid saying something you don't want to and to prevent future communication with someone you would rather not deal with).
I see 2 things, a total arse trying to negotiate in a ridiculous manner. But I cannot believe that give to take 1c is a big deal to anybody when it comes to not completing a transaction
It makes me wonder if some people would buy a tri folder full of green cents cause it was cheaper? 😟

Sounds like a person that would rage on and on over paying a $2 admission to a local coin show.

Did you ask the person you’re complaining about to use PayPal’s Friends & Family option for payment?

If this was the same person that posted a gold coin for $450 then asked about it on the main forum looks like he disappeared.

Things like this make me, so far, appreciate the people I've chosen to deal with (both selling to and buying from).
Maybe because I don't sell too much and when I do, I'm not in a hurry and don't really care if it sells, so I'm not desperate.
But, if I had interactions like that, I would certainly wonder about things
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
From my table at shows - When their BS starts it’s time for them to leave. I just ignore their lowball offer argument, etc. Online best to just ignore them - don’t feed the trolls.
@jedm you are wrong.. I am not the one who messaged about these Walkers... you are talking without full knowledge... like so many on here.
Because you think its me you are going to post a DM from me to you?
Appreciate showing who you are
I would hate to be the store manager at the grocery store when he whines about the cost of a dozen eggs.

No, I did not. Since this is not an expensive item, my listing clearly states that I accept PayPal Friends & Family (FF).
For more expensive items, I accept both PayPal Friends & Family and PayPal Goods & Services.
I recently sold two tubes of 40 2018 American Silver Eagles to the member onlyroosies, and he paid $1,350 via PayPal Friends & Family, delivered ($33.75 per coin).

Some people can be so ridiculous about saving a few pennies on their coin purchases that it's actually heartwarming.

Just move on, don’t waste your time, save yourself the stress. They are not worth it.
Sorry about that, I edited my post to clarify. I didn't mention you as the poster about the walkers. I didn't identify who the DM was from.
That's not how I read it. The "other" guy would have accepted $450 PPFF. see " If you would have paid $450 PayPal FF for my Franklin set "
Well AFAIK there should be the "circle of trust" here that basically says that your word is your bond. If you tell me that you want coin X then I will ship it knowing that payment by whatever means is forthcoming. Works both ways. You'll know without asking if you're in it or not and membership is earned and not given.
@BAJJERFAN , well said................only @Ricko could have said it better.

OK I’m the insane one. This guy has sent me offers more than once always expects me to accept PayPal goods and service. I kindly say appreciate the offer but I’ll pass. You don’t see that copied and pasted. I lost it when I saw his impaired walkers requiring PayPal no fee as payment. How many here have received their coins before I received payment ? I trust people. It’s not about a damn cent which you guys can’t see past it’s about integrity. He has to mention the dollar worth of stamps hocking his wares and now I find out he calculates the copper in 90% to evaluate the metal content of a 90% half dollar…or should I say 90% silver 10% copper half dollar. Ya that’s how we calculate 90% my bad. I do a lot of stupid stuff this ain’t one of them. Say what you want I’ll never know because I won’t touch this thread again BTW I blocked this guy so he decided to yell at me in public.
Well, I have been selling on the boards since the beginning. Buying also. 98 percent of the folks are good decent members and I have only had trouble with a couple insane individuals. One of them took his own life...
I would move on, life is to short....
And good luck with the sale!
@JimTyler is a first-class and totally trustworthy forum member from whom I have made numerous purchases that were always smooth and drama free. I can highly recommend him without any hesitation.

People need to state the facts. I have only dealt with him once, and that was it. I just sent him an offer of $450 via PayPal Goods and Services, delivered. He replied, “Appreciate the offer, but I’ll pass.” That was the extent of our interaction. It is not true, as he claimed, that I sent him multiple offers.
What bothers me is that he questioned my integrity without facts, saying, “Trust is everything here. Half dollars melt today at $12.3519, which rounds down to $12.35, but you round up to $12.36—a very minor issue that speaks volumes to me.”
The fact is that the melt value was actually $12.3641147593, which I rounded down to $12.36. I could never have imagined, in my entire life, that a reasonable person would question someone’s integrity over a one-cent price difference.
Life is too short, and I’m glad I was lucky enough to only deal with this kind of member once.
By the way, I was not bothered by his reply: “I’ll give you $200 for your 22 impaired Walkers, PayPal Goods and Services delivered.” even though the total melt value was $12.36 × 22 = $271.92.
It's worse than uncommon. Take away the copper (and it's value) and the value potentially goes up because the refining cost goes down.
