Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
[Robert Frost]
It was dusk and the hour was late, yet it would be another hour before we could proceed with the task at hand.
Earlier in the day we had mistakenly gone to Tastee Freez to take advantage of “Free Ice Cream Cone Day” only to realize that it was Dairy Queen that was offering the promotion. Instead we enjoyed lunch there without the added ice cream treat.
Now, later in the day, by chance we found ourselves a mile or less from Dairy Queen and we had an hour to kill.
Two routes diverged, one by walkway, the other by road,
We took the one less traveled - opting to walk rather than drive -
And that made all the difference.
Had we driven to Dairy Queen we would never have experienced this evening’s “Bunny Encounter.” While the interaction between us and the rabbit was brief, it was in another sense lasting, as we made a connection with nature that continued to remain with us adding joy to our day.
As the bunny scampered away and we went on our way, I reflected, and then commented, “There are so many things we can only experience by walking and which we miss by driving.”
The "task at hand," reluctantly (after some 38 years) having to replace our faithful GE Refrigerator manufactured in August of 1986 with a new Whirlpool Refrigerator with today's projected life expectancy for a new refrigerator limited to 12 years. (They don't make them like they used to do.)
And for good measure, the sunset as we drove home:
FRIDAY'S CLEAR SKIES REVEALED A STEAMING Mount Spurr WITH ITS CONTINUED THREAT OF ERUPTION
Taking advantage of yesterday's unusually clear atmosphere this video captures a spectacular panorama viewing of Anchorage Alaska’s Cook Inlet and the impressive mountains that ring it.
The Panorama begins at Point Woronzof, site of Anchorage International Airport’s North/South Runway, and extends all the way to the Port of Anchorage as it borders the airfield of Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson. (Point Woronzof was so named by 1794 British Vancouver Expedition member Whidbey in honor of Russia's then popular Ambassador to Great Britain, Count Woronzof. Vancouver and Whidbey both have their names attached to Canada and an island across from Seattle respectively.)
Between those landmarks is a stunning view of the snow covered Alaska Range with zoomed in focus on its active volcano Mount Spurr which is readying to violently, once again, erupt. As the camera pauses and zooms in one can see evidences of the steam that is currently being emitted from the visible crater at its peak.
The panorama then continues to include an equally stunning view of Mount Susitna, otherwise known as Sleeping Lady for its appearance as an Indian Maiden at rest with her flowing hair reaching out toward just passed Mount Spurr.
The next impressive mountain to come into view is Mount McKinley’s companion look-a-like mountain, Mount Foraker. The viewing then continues past Mount McKinley to The Port of Anchorage below the cliffs above it that are the site of Anchorage’s military airfield on Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson.
Finally the camera cuts back to take in a closer view of Mount McKinley as its peak rises above the horizon partially shrouded by clouds.

The world's first Ferris Wheel was built by Carson City born George Ferris Jr. for the 1893 World's Columbia Exhibition in Chicago at 231 feet high. In 1990 Yokohama's 369 foot Ferris Wheel was built for the YES '89 Yokohama Exhibition. Today it remains as the key attraction of a small amusement park known as Yokohama Cosmo World. Located on Pier 21 the Ferris Wheel is officially known as the Cosmo Clock 21 Ferris Wheel.
The giant Ferris Wheel serves as a huge clock both with numerical symbols as well as with rim lights sequentially turning on as seconds ticking off.
In the just edited and posted below videos taken last year from the 62nd floor of the once tallest building in Japan, Yokohama's Landmark Tower, the Ferris Wheel's spectacular night light show is shared.
The first video is a just created YouTube Short which includes an abbreviated light show set to whimsical music. For a more complete three minute plus version watch the landscape view in the second video, although you will have to supply your own musical accompaniment.
Finally, I have added some photos taken a few weeks ago while in Carson City Nevada that depict the Ferris Mansion, the house in which the Ferris Wheel's inventor grew up.

Thanks.
Apparently so as there was no one nearby, but it did look pretty well fed for a wild rabbit and it certainly was not afraid of people.
I know that flying object looks like a Bush plane, but it is more likely just one of our larger mosquitos.
