New Orleans Gold 1st Year Set
Over the weekend with the purchase of the gold dollar, I completed my set of the first year gold coins of each denomination issued by the New Orleans Branch Mint.

Love the 41 - O $5. Way less $5 coins from NOLA than Charlotte and Dahlonega in Fairmont. I see them continuing to appreciate in value.

That is quite a collection. I have all of the small pieces through the $3 Gold Piece. That is sort of a pattern for me. I have a lot of the “small stuff.”
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. Very nice. At first I miss understood. I thought you meant the first year for the mint not the denomination. Obviously your accomplishment is much tougher. Again, beautiful set. James

The 1839-O Quarter Eagle is really beautiful in person. I look at it all the time. I also managed to assemble this set in all-PCGS holders. That wasn't necessarily a requirement for me, it just worked out that way.
Next, I'll be working to complete the New Orleans Half Eagles and Eagles from the 1840s.
